Leo New Moon: Follow Your Heart

The first of two Leo New Moons in a month happens Sunday, July 23rd, at 2:46 am MST/PDT, at 0 degrees Leo 44 minutes.

Here’s the chart:  LeoNewMoon2017-1.

Leo the Lion is the King of Beasts.  Ruled by the Sun, the Star at the center of our Solar System, Leo has long been associated with leadership and royalty, Kings and  Queens.

Like the Sun, Leo wants to be the center of attention, recognized and loved by all!

Given this desire to be noticed and appreciated by others, it’s important to realize that most Leos are intrinsically insecure.  After all, Leo follows Cancer in the zodiac; the sign that’s learning INNER emotional security.

Leo’s primary evolutionary lesson is to learn to love and appreciate itself, instead of constantly seeking validation and approval from others.  Indeed, unless and until Leo learns to love itself, it will typically experience disappointment after bitter disappointment at a LACK of recognition from others.  Of course, this is the very set of circumstances that forces Leo back upon itself so that it can and must learn to love and value itself, ITSELF.

This confirms the natural ‘law of correspondences’ that teaches that outer realities always reflect inner realities.  This law is sometimes referred to as the ‘As Above, So Below’ principle, or similarly, ‘As Without, So Within.’  It stands to reason that it is only when self-love exists that it can be reflected back to us from others.

Leo is the sign of the heart.  Its evolutionary intention to learn SELF-LOVE is precisely what is required in order to heal emotional insecurities, particularly insecurities about unique individuality that are always experienced through the sign of Cancer.

Ultimately, every human being must learn this evolutionary lesson.  When we truly love and value ourselves, we’re free to be our unique authentic self.  As a result, we can then truly shine our light into the world, just like the Sun.

Two New Moons in Leo happen over the coming month.  Today’s Leo Moon at 0 degrees is the first.  The second is a Total Solar Eclipse at 28 degrees Leo on August 21st that traverses the U.S. from Oregon to South Carolina.  Eclipses are powerful harbingers of change.  Astrologers know that Solar and Lunar Eclipses significantly ‘move’ events in the world.  Total Solar Eclipses are the most  powerful of all eclipses.

This first Leo Moon will initiate Leo lessons; the second will culminate them.  Leo lessons are about opening the heart to give and receive unconditional LOVE.  Leo is also about Creative Self-Expression, or Self-Realization.  We’re always happiest when we’re expressing our true self and when we’re creating and pursuing what we love.

Mars is also in Leo now conjunct the Sun and Moon.  Mars adds forceful energy to the New Moon chart pattern that encourages dynamic evolutionary growth.  Mars always instinctively pursues desires.  Our desires emanate directly from our Souls.  Most people are unaware of this however since most people’s Souls operate at an unconscious level.  Nevertheless, it is through our desires that our Souls point us forward and direct our personal evolutionary growth.

Creativity is abundant now particularly when applied to desires and matters of the heart.  So follow your heart!  Take time to do the things you love with the people you love.

Let pleasure, joy and play lead the way!

The Sun and Moon are also quite favorably connected to Chiron, the ‘Wounded Healer,’ in Pisces, the sign of the Divine.  Pisces rules the natural spiritual developmental path.  Here, Chiron promises that open hearts can receive blessings from the Universe and the Divine Creative Source or what many people refer to as God, Goddess, Spirit, Great Mystery or All That Is.

This Divine Creative Source is always teaching us the universal wisdom of compassion, forgiveness, unconditional love and acceptance.  Chiron in Pisces is THE ultimate symbol of healing for those who wish to glean their Soul’s purpose in co-creating painful past experiences.  Through Chiron in Pisces, we can come to realize how the most difficult events in our lives have facilitated our evolutionary journey and ongoing personal growth.

This Leo New Moon is saying, “RE-IMAGINE hurtful experiences.”  Move beyond WHAT happened.  Instead, seek to understand WHY it happened.

What lessons were learned?  What wisdom was gained as a result of the pain and disappointment or disillusionment?   What was your Soul trying to teach you?!

Challenging aspects to Uranus in Aries and Neptune in Pisces are spurring the desire to break free of victim consciousness that co-creates realities that undermine and hurt us.  Indeed victim consciousness always manifests in punishing circumstances driven by an unconscious belief that we must ‘atone’ for the ‘sins’ of our human  imperfections.

Liberating ourselves from victim consciousness requires that we make different choices.  These choices may seem too radical or daunting to some, especially those who’ve already experienced harsh criticism, judgment, painful rejection or ridicule for being ‘different.’

But of course, being different is what each of us MUST be if we’re really being true to ourselves!  IN TRUTH, EVERY HUMAN BEING IS IN FACT DIFFERENT!

Nature reflects the truth of this natural law in every snowflake that falls, every tree in a forest and every flower in a field.  Each one is UNIQUE.

In the natural evolutionary journey of the Soul, ‘fitting-in’ is the death knell to the expression of true individuality.  Expressing our true self is the only full-proof way to happiness.

Uranus is one of two planets that will station retrograde in the coming month.  The other is Mercury.  AND, they are most favorably connected to one another now allowing easy access to their energy.  Planets are most powerful when they station so these two are super-charged to deliver action and change!

Mercury and Uranus rule short-term and long-term memories respectively, including past life memories.  They are also a natural astrological planetary pair.  These two planets are higher and lower ‘octaves’ of one another, sharing the same energy, while vibrating at different frequencies.  Students of music understand this phenomenon.  Ruling the individual conscious and unconscious mind, they can bring powerful insights and understanding that can help heal past traumas for those who are willing to do the necessary ‘inner work’ of deeply reviewing and reflecting upon their life experiences.

Uranus (freedom, liberation, breakthroughs) stations retrograde on August 2nd at 28 degrees Aries (action, self-discovery, courage) encourages new ideas and new directions.  Uranus continues to be part of an extraordinary Grand Fire Trine along with the North Node (the path of evolution) in Leo (creativity and love) and retrograde Saturn (responsibility) which is finishing up its three year journey through Sagittarius (intuition, personal truth and beliefs).  This Grand Fire Trine also reflects an abundance of creative energy!

Mercury (thoughts, knowledge, communication) stations retrograde on August 12th in Virgo (healing, self-improvement, humility) encouraging necessary changes and adjustments in order to restore health and well-being and resolve crises.  This Mercury retrograde will focus attention on what needs to be healed on all levels including personal, collective and planetary wounds.  Here in the U.S. we will no doubt see renewed attention and effort on health care legislation as well as environmental laws and regulations.

When Mercury completes its retrograde and stations direct on September 5th it will do so at the precise degree of the second Leo New Moon Total Solar Eclipse, 28 degrees Leo!

This may well be a ‘brain on fire’ day, full of insights, revelations and renewed clarity.  Expect those famous ‘lightning bolt AHA’ moments that can bring surprising answers and breakthroughs in personal and collective consciousness.

Mind-blowing discoveries, innovations and solutions to long-standing problems may suddenly, surprisingly and magically appear!

Two more important aspects occur in this New Moon chart pattern.  Venus in Gemini is opposite retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius, and Jupiter in Libra is square retrograde Pluto in Capricorn.

Venus and Saturn encourage us to speak our truth while allowing others to do the same.  Be totally honest with yourself and others.  Open, straight-forward communication can lead to breakthroughs in understanding.

Jupiter and Pluto have already squared each other twice, on November 24, 2016 and March 30, 2017.  Think back to what was happening in your life at those times.  It’s likely that whatever occurred then is culminating now.

Both Venus opposite Saturn (rules Capricorn) and Jupiter square Pluto (currently in Capricorn) are demanding that we take complete responsibility (Capricorn) for all of our actions, choices and experiences knowing that our own Soul co-created those experiences FOR A REASON!

Perhaps legal or financial matters were the issue during the previous Jupiter squares to Pluto.  Or perhaps relationship concerns were unfolding forcing difficult but necessary changes.  In any case, there was an evolutionary need to expand and evolve personal values or beliefs in order to more fully allow and accept other’s differences.

The bottom line message of this first Leo New Moon is that in order to evolve, we must open our hearts and learn to love ourselves and others unconditionally.

Its also trying to teach us the natural spiritual wisdom of listening to and following our heart’s desires.  Our desires  always lead us towards greater personal evolution.

We’re conditioned to believe that success and happiness always require hard work, sacrifice and suffering.  In fact, our Souls are trying to teach us that success and happiness naturally occur when we follow our heart!

Leo rules the heart!  Leo teaches us that LOVE is all we really need.  If we do our best over the coming month, then when the second Leo New Moon occurs, which is a powerful TOTAL Solar Eclipse on August 21st, we can reap the rewards of a heart that’s more open, content and at peace with itself.  And if we do this right, we’ll experience a LOT more joy and have a LOT more fun along the way!

The Leo New Moon TOTAL Solar Eclipse happens August 21st at 11:30 am MST/PDT!

Cancer New Moon: Inner Emotional Security

The Cancer New Moon happens Friday evening, June 23, 2017, at 7:30 pm MST/PDT, at 2 degrees Cancer 47 minutes.

Here’s the chart: CancerNewMoon2017 .

Cancer is all about emotional security.  For most of us, a safe home, loving family, good job and supportive community usually count top among those things in life that contribute to our emotional well-being.   Yet we often have little to no control over outer things which can prove to be unreliable sources in meeting our needs.  Even worse, sometimes they can actually be the cause or source of emotional upsets, wounds and even trauma.

Cancer natives often experience gut-wrenching disappointments when the people, places and things they hope they can count on to take care of them fail to provide the love, support or protection they need and desire.  As a result, Cancer is thrown back upon itself facilitating the lesson of emotional self-reliance.  Ultimately, Cancer learns to take complete responsibility for itself, meeting it’s own needs and providing for its own safety, security, happiness and emotional well-being.  Ultimately, Cancer learns that true emotional security can only come from within itself, not from any outer source.

This Cancer New Moon will trigger us emotionally.  It will also provide opportunities to develop greater inner emotional security.  You may be thinking that with so much daily strife and conflict happening in our world, inner peace is next to impossible.  Think again!

The world’s wisdom traditions teach that the only way to have outer peace is through cultivating inner peace.  As chaos swirls all around us outside, we can create and maintain a healthy sense of inner peace and calm.  We can learn to become the source of our own well-being.

The Sun and Moon are joined by both Mercury and Mars now also in Cancer.  Mercury rules information exchanges of all kinds.  Mars always represents the desires we instinctively act upon.  Together, these two bring LOTS of communication energy to the New Moon celestial pattern so expect everyone to be talking about their feelings and venting their emotional frustrations!

Cancer is also the sign of home and family.  This sign rules our parents as well as our residential properties.  For most people, family is an essential part of life.  Typically, Summertime is associated with increased family time since family visits and vacations are often scheduled while school is out.  With emphasis in the sign of Cancer now, expect home and family matters to dominate a lot of time, energy and resources over the coming weeks.

Of course for some, family time is always a joy and a pleasure.  For others, family interactions can be extremely emotionally difficult.  The Cancer New Moon will bring home and family matters to a head so be prepared!

For some, the challenge may simply be associated with feeling pulled between work and family.  For others, it may be between fulfilling personal needs and commitments and/or meeting other’s expectations.  Or perhaps some family matter that’s been festering for a while can no longer be ignored.  However you choose to spend your time this Summer, remember that YOU, and YOU ALONE, are responsible for your emotional well-being.

All this Cancer energy joins the ongoing Cardinal T-Square turning it into a Grand Cardinal Cross.  Grand Crosses symbolize the maximum energy potential of each modality.  There are three zodiac sign modalities:  Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable.  The Cardinal modality expresses its energy through instinctively initiating new beginnings.  Remember, it’s the Cardinal signs that begin each new season (Aries – Spring, Cancer – Summer, Libra – Autumn and Capricorn – Winter).

As the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars ALL move through Cancer over the next month, they’ll each connect with all three of the other planets in the Cross.  First they will each square Jupiter in Libra, then they’ll each oppose retrograde Pluto in Capricorn and finally they will each also square Uranus in Aries.  As all these planetary connections unfold, matters of truth, fairness, equality, justice, accountability and responsibility will be recurring themes.

Below are the dates on which all of these Grand Cardinal Cross connections will occur.  Perhaps you’ll want to mark your calendar and pay closer attention to what’s showing up on the global stage as well as in your own personal world.

  • MOON squares Jupiter June 24th, opposes Pluto June 24th and squares Uranus June 25th.
  • MARS squares Jupiter June 24th, opposes Pluto July 2nd and squares Uranus July 17th.
  • MERCURY squares Jupiter June 27th, opposes Pluto June 29th and squares Uranus July 4th.
  • SUN squares Jupiter July 5th, opposes Pluto July 9th and squares Uranus July 20th.

Additionally, Mercury and Mars conjoin on June 28th and the Sun and Mars conjoin on July 26th.

The bottom line of all this activity is that we can expect MORE changes, with BIG consequences that have far-reaching implications.  Some may surprise or even shock us.  Most however will likely be a continuation of events and circumstances that have already begun or occurred.  Many of these situations have already been contributing to worldwide unrest and increasing protests that have been fueling ongoing social, political, economic and cultural shifts for some time now, including issues like Brexit, implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, investigations into Russian interference in democratic elections, and health care legislation reform in the U.S.  While many upcoming events will be likely be associated with ongoing situations, of course others may not…

Perhaps most unsettling is the fact that with Mars leading the way for all those planets in Cancer, there is enormous potential for dangerous escalations in violence now.  After all, Mars has long been known as the God of War.  Considering there are currently conflicts and wars raging in Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, Congo, Ukraine, Brazil and Venezuela, there are plenty of ‘hot spots’ where things could accidentally, or deliberately spin completely out of control.  Violence has become all too commonplace in our everyday experience, and, it could dramatically spike in coming weeks.

Given the intensely powerful energies of this current time, it’s crucial that we be very mindful, focusing our thoughts, prayers and intentions on coming together and working together to co-create peaceful solutions to the problems we face.  Remember, consciousness creates reality, both individually and collectively.

The difficult square between Mars and Jupiter is already playing out in another quite dramatic way, through high-stakes legal actions and activities.  Politicians in DC are increasingly ‘lawyering up’ as a result of expanding and intensifying Department of Justice and Congressional investigations.

Indeed the number of investigations seems to grow by the day, associated with a variety of concerns including:  President Trump’s violation of the emoluments clause of our constitution, Russian hacking of the 2016 presidential election, alleged Russian collusion with the Trump campaign, possible obstruction of justice by President Trump in his firings of interim Attorney General Sally Yates, as well as FBI Director James Comey, omissions and falsification of testimony regarding security clearance forms and vetting procedures by several Trump administration operatives.

And let’s not forget that the legal review of Trump’s executive orders banning travel by anyone coming to the U.S. from any one of several majority Muslim nations is still working its way through the higher courts.

The good news is that Mars is also very favorably connected to Neptune in Pisces now.  This connection promises an increasing capacity for greater compassion, tolerance and charitable acts from good people all over the world.

More good news comes from a Grand Fire Trine!  Grand Trines are comprised of at least three planets or points, each occupying one of the signs in a particular element – Earth, Air, Fire or Water.

Fire is the element associated with creativity, passion and inspiration.  The current Grand Fire Trine includes retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius, Uranus in Aries and the North Node of the Moon which just recently entered Leo for a year and a half.  This configuration will continue through the Summer offering creative breakthroughs that can resolve many of our current problems.  What are you inspired to create?  What are you passionate enough about to act upon now?  What are you waiting for?!

One way or another, this New Moon is going to bring some BIG changes.  Don’t resist them!  Co-create them!

Remember to pay attention to how things FEEL.  Allow your emotional body to guide you.  Take complete responsibility for your own well-being through cultivating inner emotional security.  As you do so you’ll know greater peace and tranquility.  As you do so, you’ll also contribute to greater peace and tranquility in the world.

As the saying goes, “There is no way to peace.  Peace is the way.”  True peace can only come from within.  As the song goes, “Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me…”

Gemini New Moon: Knowledge is Power

The Gemini New Moon happens May 25th at 12:44 pm MST/PDT.  It occurs at 4 degrees Gemini 46 minutes.  Here’s the chart:   GeminiNewMoon2017.

Gemini is the sign of the Twins.  In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux were twins born to the same mother but different fathers.  Pollux was immortal; Castor was mortal.

The two brightest stars in the constellation of Gemini are named for these twins who represent opposite forces or choices.  Accordingly, Gemini also symbolizes the duality of the mind that reflects the dual nature or reality of our universe, which of course was originally created out of pure divine consciousness.

As the first Air sign in the zodiac, Gemini reflects the mental plane of existence.  It represents the logical mind that processes information gathered through our five physical senses in a linear deductive fashion.  Gemini is the sign of the left brain and as such, reflects human intellectual capacity and mental thought structures.

Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, who was also known to the Greeks as the ‘Messenger’ of the Gods.  With winged feet and helmet, Mercury always delivered messages swiftly.  In modern times, Gemini is the sign associated with the media.  Other modern Gemini phenomena include the internet and social media which have exponentially expanded instantaneous information sharing capacity globally.

Gemini’s intrinsic curiosity naturally fuels its never-ending quest for more and more knowledge.  Gemini gathers and disseminates information of all kinds through both the written and spoken word.  As it does so, it increasingly learns about and comes to understand the physical world and how it works.

So it should come as no surprise that this Gemini New Moon chart pattern seeds energy for lots and Lots and LOTS of communication!  Watch as information of all kinds is sought, subpoenaed, provided, shared, exchanged, released, leaked, announced, researched, revised, retracted, hidden, hacked, revealed, recorded, adjusted, contradicted, challenged, questioned, blurted out and tweeted!  Expect a surprise or two or twelve in the coming month as important messages and announcements create many new headlines.

One of the problems Gemini must overcome is a tendency to reject information that doesn’t comport with what it already knows or believes to be true. This occurs because for Gemini, security comes from its ability to know the facts and when those facts are challenged, it is often quite unsettling.  It is interesting to note that the United States chart has a Gemini Ascendant or first house sign.  And Donald Trump has the Sun, North Node and Uranus all in Gemini as well.

Current consensus reality powerfully reflects this paradigm of outright rejection of some information.  This occurs through the habit most people have of associating with, tuning in and listening only to sources of information that reaffirms, supports or agrees with their existing point of view.  This tendency, rooted in the need for intellectual security, is a significant factor in the extreme polarization throughout our world today, especially when it comes to political ideologies.

Another challenge Gemini often encounters is that the information it gathers sometimes contains contradictions.  Contradictory ideas, perspectives or opinions can create confusion.  When this is the case, Gemini must reach over to it’s opposite sign, Sagittarius, for help in sorting through competing facts or conflicted data.

Evolution always occurs by and through opposite signs.  For Gemini, Sagittarius provides an expanded understanding that helps it to make sense of all the disparate information or knowledge it has gathered.  Sagittarius helps Gemini determine what information is pertinent and then helps it to see how all the different pieces of information fit into a larger holistic context.

Sagittarius rules the right brain which is the source of intuitive information.  Our intuition comes from metaphysical sources, or that what is beyond the physical material world.  When confusion reigns, Gemini must let go of logic and trust its intuition to ultimately realize what’s true and what’s not.

Interestingly, Sagittarius also teaches the RELATIVITY of truth.  We are all unique individuals who see reality through our own personal ‘lens’ or point of view.  So it stands to reason that different people will naturally see things differently resulting in different perspectives, opinions and beliefs.  This is evidenced by the common phenomenon of a singular event, like an automobile accident, that is witnessed by several different people.  Often, each of these individuals will report the event in a slightly different way than all the others.  This difference actually reflects the uniqueness of individual consciousness.  But that’s a whole other subject!

Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter which is quite active in the heavens now.  Moving through the sign of Libra, Jupiter has been retrograde since February 6th.  Currently, Jupiter is slowing down ahead of its upcoming station direct (resuming apparent forward motion) at 13 degrees Libra on June 9th.  It’s also in a waning inconjunct aspect (150 degrees) with Neptune in Pisces.  Neptune is also slowing down ahead of it’s station retrograde on June 16th at 14 degrees Pisces.  Jupiter also continues to be part of a powerful T-Square along with Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries.  More on this T-Square later…

Both Jupiter and Neptune are associated with beliefs.  Conscious beliefs are associated with Jupiter; unconscious beliefs are associated with Neptune.  The intensity of these two heavyweights, extremely powerful now due to their stationing status, will likely manifest in growing pressure to get to the truth in matters large and small especially those where travel, educational or legal matters are concerned or where international people or interests are involved.  This will of course require breaking down and breaking through all the rhetoric, spin, distortions and downright lies that have become the norm in our daily discourse and information exchanges.

Adding to this intensity is Mercury, the planet that rules Gemini and therefore this New Moon.  Currently moving through Taurus (ruled by Venus) he’s connected to both Jupiter in Libra and Neptune in Pisces in a unique planetary configuration called a YOD.

YODs are comprised of two planets that are sextile (60 degrees) each other while being simultaneously inconjunct (150 degrees) or ‘quincunx’ a third planet.  Together, the three planets form an isosceles triangle.  Seen another way, lines connecting the planets can look like a capital “Y” thus the name YOD.

Some believe the “Y” shape symbolizes a divining rod or stick.  Many astrologers believe YODS are associated with fate.  Some call YODs the ‘Hand of God.’

Yods are crisis-driven and utterly demand that necessary changes and adjustments be made in order to resolve the crisis.   Evolution cannot and will not proceed unless and until the appropriate choices and changes are made.  YODs always represent a dominant aspect in any overall chart pattern.  In the Gemini New Moon chart, this YOD signifies that truths WILL come out, one way or another.  Any attempt to obfuscate, hide or interfere with the truth will bring karmic consequences.  It is therefore incumbent upon ALL of us now to be completely honest and truthful, with ourselves and with each other.

Further emphasizing this same dynamic of truth-telling is Mercury’s challenging connection (135 degrees) to retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius, the sign that seeks truth!  Saturn is simultaneously in a very favorable trine aspect (120 degrees) with Uranus in Aries.  Uranus seeks freedom and liberates us from whatever is preventing necessary evolutionary progress.  Saturn and Uranus symbolize that age-old adage, “The truth will set you free!”  These two planetary connections further emphasize the inevitability of truths and lies being revealed and exposed.

Former Fox News TV Anchor Gretchen Carlson. On July 6, she filed a lawsuit against then Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes claiming sexual harassment. Subsequently, dozens of other women also stepped forward to accuse Ailes of harassment, and Ailes was forced to resign under pressure. In September 2016, Carlson and 21st Century Fox Corporation (Fox News’ parent corporation) settled the lawsuit for $20 million.

The Sun and Moon in Gemini are themselves in a difficult sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) aspect with Juno and Pluto in Capricorn.  They’re also precisely semi-square (45 degrees) Venus and Pallas Athena which are both currently in Aries.  Simultaneously, Venus and the asteroid Pallas Athena are conjoined and in a waxing square (90 degrees) aspect to Juno and Pluto in Capricorn.

Altogether, these alignments signify speaking truth to power.  Women will likely lead the way in courageous efforts to hold those in positions of power accountable.

Venus rules love and money, so we can expect much of the information exchanged in the coming month to center around issues associated with significant partnerships, and with values or valuables, money and wealth, assets and debts and budgets.

Venus is also currently moving through the ongoing ‘social unrest’ Cardinal T-Square comprised of Jupiter in Libra, Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries.  Whenever a planet moves through this T-Square configuration, it connects with each of the three planets involved, one after another.

Currently finishing up in Aries, the sign in which she began her rare bi-annual retrograde this Spring (March 4th to April 16th), Venus already opposed Jupiter in Libra on May 19th.  Consider the following news headlines of that day:

  • The Swedish government drops sex crimes investigation of Julian Assange.
  • President Trump denies ordering FBI Chief James Comey to call off Flynn probe.
  • Trump announces $110 billion Saudi arms deal during first trip overseas.
  • Embattled former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes dead at 77.
  • FCC vote advances bid to end net neutrality.
  • Visiting Turkish President Erdogan watches as his bodyquards attack DC protestors.
  • Brazilian President Michael Temer refuses to resign amid new financial scandal.  Video recording shows him discussing bribes, authorizing hush money.
  • Venezuelan anti-government protestors rage against President Maduro as citizens face starvation.
  • US announces sanctions against eight Venezuelan Supreme court justices who ruled that opposition party members were in contempt of their country’s constitution and removed them from power.
  • Greek parliament authorizes fresh austerity measures amidst growing protests.  Protestors declare there is no other solution than revolution.

Whew!  Do you see the themes of partnerships, money and legal issues apparent in these headlines?

AND, Venus is not yet done with the T-Square!  She is precisely square Pluto in Capricorn today – the very day of the New Moon.  Today’s headlines include, ‘Trump demands other NATO members pay their fair share.’

Since Pluto represents power, and Capricorn represents governments and social institutions, we can expect many more headlines in the weeks ahead about financial information involving people in positions of leadership or authority including politicians, bank officials or corporate CEO’s.  We’ll probably learn more about some high-level financial dealings that were previously hidden, corrupt or untoward in some way.

President Trump invites Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak into the Oval Office May 10, 2017.

Venus will complete her journey through the T-Square on June 3rd when she finally conjoins Uranus (surprises, protests, political activism and revolution) in Aries.  Perhaps this final conjunction will bring even more shocking revelations regarding resource and relationship matters and legal and foreign affairs?

And speaking of relationship matters, Venus’ square to the asteroid Juno is adding significant stress to relationships already experiencing difficulties resulting from financial ties.  Can you say NATO partners and alliances?

Juno rules partnership commitments.  She was the long-suffering wife of Zeus in Greek mythology who endured his serial infidelities.  Pallas Athena was Zeus’ daughter.  She was born by springing forth from his head thereby representing the creative wisdom of the feminine as well as the female warrior spirit.  The prominence of these feminine asteroids in the Gemini New Moon chart reflect the likelihood of continuing revolutionary fervor focused on issues of social equality, particularly women’s rights and well-being.

Expect women to be among those leading efforts to expose and address these situations.

One woman who epitomizes the feminine creative wisdom and warrior spirit of Pallas Athene is California Congresswoman Jackie Speier.  She is a member of both the Armed Services and Intelligence Oversight committees in the House of Representatives.

In a recent House Intelligence Oversight Committee hearing on Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, her questions to former CIA Chief John Brennan clearly showed her interest in ‘following the money.’

Finally, Mars is part of a stellium in Gemini as the New Moon happens.  Stelliums occur when three or more planets or celestial bodies occupy the same sign.  Stelliums always reflect an abundance or emphasis of the archetypal energies associated with any sign.  Mars of course is the planet of instinctive actions and desires.  It typically pursues what it wants with unimpeded force.  Mars is the engine providing the driving force spurring all the communication and information exchanges happening now and in the coming weeks.

Think of Mars as the ‘irresistible force.’  That irresistible force is now coming into direct opposition with the proverbial ‘immovable object’ which is Saturn in Sagittarius.  When Mars is thwarted in the pursuit of its desires, it often experiences anger.  Remember, Mars is the God of War.  Sometimes that anger reaches extreme levels and turns into violence.

In recent days, two such manifestations of distorted, unevolved Martial energy have occurred.  First, a suicide bomber attacked Ariana Grande’s music concert in Manchester England killing twenty-two people and injuring scores of others.

And yesterday, Montana Republican congressional candidate Greg Gianforte physically assaulted Ben Jacobs, a Guardian News reporter after a campaign event.  Ben ended up in the ER of a nearby hospital for x-rays after being body-slammed in response to a question he asked the candidate about the republican health care plan’s scoring by the Federal Office of Management and Budgets.

Insecure individuals will express this Mars/Saturn energy through arguments and violence.  Evolved expression of the same energy can manifest through dogged determination to get to the facts and speak truth to power.

Different ideas and opinions need not be a cause for distress and defensiveness.  We don’t always need to agree with everything we hear or read.  But if we don’t open ourselves to other’s viewpoints, our knowledge and understanding will be limited.

Gemini learns through gathering and disseminating information and knowledge.  It inevitably learns from others.  Gemini ultimately evolves by realizing it is not only a teacher, but also a lifelong student.

The animated illustration of political polarization above is just one example of the extreme levels of imbalance we’re currently experiencing planet-wide.

Of course, imbalance breeds insecurity.  Insecurity breeds fear.  Fear breeds hatred, anger and violence.

We would all do well now to reach for the highest expression possible embodied within the spiritual YOD comprised of Mercury (mind and knowledge), Jupiter (truth and beliefs) and Neptune (divine spirituality) now.

This YOD can help us to remember that WE ARE ALL ONE

This YOD can help us to use our minds and knowledge wisely to make better choices moving forward.  Remember, the POWER OF CHOICE is what facilitates evolution, personally and collectively.  We all have the power of choice.

Yes, we ARE living through a period of chaos now.  CHAOS IS A NATURAL PHENOMENON that always occurs in between old paradigms and realities that are disintegrating and new paradigms and realities that are being created.

It’s worth repeating now something I say and write often:  We are living in extraordinary times!  These are times of extraordinary change.  These extraordinary times and changes were prophecied by ancient peoples from cultures the world over.

So obviously we are extraordinary Souls, here now to do extraordinary things.  Our power to do so lies in our ability to choose.  Our choices will be informed by our level and degree of knowledge.  Choices can either bring about a new paradigm of solutions or maintain the old paradigm that’s created so much pain and fear and destruction.

Knowledge is power.  Seek more knowledge!  Seek greater understanding.  Apply your knowledge and understanding to make wise choices that will bring about a better world and a better tomorrow.

The power of the people is stronger than the people in power.  There is a deep power in words that speak the truth.

Blessed be…

Taurus New Moon: The Sacred Divine Feminine

The Taurus New Moon happens April 26th at 5:16 am at 6 degrees Taurus 27 minutes.

Here’s the chart: TaurusNewMoon2017.

As the first Earth sign of the zodiac, Taurus represents the physical resources we need to survive.  Among the basic necessities are food, clothing and shelter.  However, in our modern era we need more.  We need money.  Hopefully, we are increasingly realizing that we also need one another.  As numerous global issues threaten our very survival, perhaps more than ever before, we need to come together and work together if we’re to succeed in resolving the crises and conflicts that are pushing life on this planet closer and closer to extinction.

In ancient times, cattle commonly reflected wealth and the intrinsically sustainable and renewable character of ‘natural resources.’  They were often traded and bartered in exchange for goods and services.  Even today, the bull is recognized as the mascot of Wall Street, a universal symbol of financial wealth.

Taurus is ruled by Venus.  She also rules another sign, Libra, which is associated with the diversity of relationships we have with others.  Libra’s evolutionary task is learning to be in relationships with others as an equal.  Symbolized by the Scales, Libra is also the sign of extremes that must learn balance in all things.  So often, Libra experiences extremes of imbalance, particularly in relationships, especially when there’s unequal resources among partners.

Libra lessons have been front and center since late last year when Jupiter entered the sign for a year.  Squaring Pluto in Capricorn and opposing Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Libra is currently part of a powerful Cardinal T-Square, a planetary configuration that will continue through August this year.

This T-Square is reflecting ongoing power struggles between the ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’ and the extreme levels of wealth disparity and income inequality that have been the cause and focus of growing social unrest.  It’s also manifesting through increasing revolutionary forces for change, that are demanding greater equality, all across our planet.

Thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets in Caracas on Wednesday, protesting President Nicolás Maduro. His opponents billed their march as “the mother of all protests.” At least two more people reportedly have died, taking the death toll to 23 since anti-government protests erupted across Venezuela at the beginning of April.

The extreme levels of greed of powerful special interests, be they wealthy individuals or corporate entities, who have bought access to governments and their leaders the world over, have contributed to the extreme levels of poverty in many countries allowing the rich to get richer as the poor get poorer.

Currently, Venus occupies the final degree of the zodiac, 29 degrees Pisces, in the New Moon chart.  This final degree represents a natural completion or culmination.  This final degree also symbolizes the ultimate spiritual evolution of mankind.  It represents a reunion with the Divine Creative Source.

Venus is also completing the post-shadow period of her bi-annual retrograde that occurred between March 4th and April 15th.  This post-shadow period will end on May 18th.  Venus retrograde is always about reviewing and reflecting upon issues associated with love and money, or resources (Taurus) and relationships (Libra).  What have we learned?  And what will we do differently as a result?

Venus is also still within orb of a conjunction (0 degrees) with Chiron in Pisces.  Chiron is always about our wounds and how to heal them.  Currently moving through Pisces (April 20, 2010 to February 18, 2019), Chiron reflects an opportunity to heal deep spiritual and psychological wounds that have left us feeling powerless and victimized.  Venus also remains in a first quarter square (90 degrees) aspect to Saturn in Sagittarius.  Interestingly, both Sagittarius and Pisces represent our beliefs.  Sagittarius rules our conscious beliefs.  Pisces however represents our deepest levels of unconscious beliefs.

First quarter square aspects carry the energy of ‘crises in action.’  The crisis typically manifests as a dilemma relative to the need to make important choices in order to move forward but not knowing what choice to make.  Which choice is the right choice or the best choice?

Lynne co-founded the Pachamama Alliance, a global community that helps people learn, connect, engage, travel and cherish life for the purpose of creating a sustainable future that works for all. With roots deep in the Amazon, they integrate indigenous wisdom with modern knowledge to support personal and collective transformation that can bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on this planet.

Making wise choices requires knowledge and insight.  Often, to arrive at the right answer we need to begin by asking the right question.  One of the most important questions Venus seems to be asking now is, “WHAT IS OUR RELATIONSHIP TO MONEY?”

Perhaps it’s a good time to read or re-read Lynne Twists, “The Soul of Money.”

In it she encourages us to think differently about resources, especially money.  She points out a near universal belief, albeit often unconscious, carried by almost everyone; a belief in ‘scarcity’ or the belief that there’s never enough.  This belief creates a quality of consciousness that co-creates realities that literally reinforce scarcity.

She writes about how most people believe there’s never enough time, or that they never get enough sleep, or sex, or love or recognition.

Perhaps most importantly, she also points out that most people believe they never have enough money.

Beliefs underpin and inform the very nature of our consciousness, both individually and collectively.  Considering that CONSCIOUSNESS CREATES REALITY, it’s crucial that we continuously ask ourselves and each other, “What do we really believe?”  And, “Are these beliefs actually rooted in facts and reality and truth?”

The sign Saturn occupies as it travels through the heavens always focuses human consciousness on the evolutionary lessons or issues associated with that sign.  Moving through Sagittarius (December 21, 2014 to December 18, 2017), Saturn has been focusing our collective attention on expanding our understanding of the truth.

Sagittarius teaches that truth is RELATIVE and exists at different levels.  There’s personal truths (what’s true for you may not be true for me) and also universal truths (some things are true for everyone regardless of individual differences).

Sagittarius is the sign associated with what we believe to be true so it stands to reason that it also rules our beliefs and belief systems.  Belief systems include the world’s faith traditions like Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity or Hinduism.  Additionally however, each of us carries a myriad of various individual beliefs that are based upon our personal experiences, both in this current lifetime as well as previous lifetimes.

With Venus currently in Pisces (unconscious beliefs), conjunct Chiron in Pisces (wounds and healing), square retrograde Saturn in Sagittarius (review of conscious beliefs), culminating a rare retrograde period of reflection upon resources and relationships (or what we really need and what we really value), we have an opportunity to realize, with much greater clarity and conscious awareness, what we do in fact believe, and perhaps more importantly, how those very beliefs have been co-creating our realities.  We cannot change something unless and until we are aware that it exists!

Of course, distorted beliefs will create distorted realities.  Distorted truths and facts and beliefs are at the root of some of the most intractable geo-political conflicts now raging across our planet, from ‘trickle-down economics’ theory, to climate change to terrorism, from the Middle East, to Africa to the United States.

Venus in Pisces, conjunct Chiron and square Saturn reflects an extraordinary choice point that offers us the chance to heal our relationships with one another and our relationship with the planet.  To EFFECTIVELY make the right choice however, requires that we also fully and consciously understand the role our beliefs have and will play in maintaining or resolving the crises we face.  To make the right choice, we must understand the facts of the situations, what’s real and true, and what distortions we’ve previously bought into, both consciously and unconsciously.

Especially unconsciously…

Here are some relevant facts worthy of consideration:

  • Earth’s 2016 surface temperatures were the warmest since modern record-keeping began in 1880, according to independent analyses by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  The 2016 temperatures continue a long-term warming trend.  Most of the warming occurred in the past 35 years, with 16 of the 17 warmest years on record occurring since 2001.
  • In 1987 we surpassed the’ One Earth Line’ as we began using more resources than the Earth can regenerate.  In other words, we began living off an ‘ecological credit card.’  That same year, ecological economists began predicting that a huge financial crisis would occur in about 20 years as a reflection of the ecological crisis.  The ‘Great Recession’ began on Wall Street with the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008.  Currently we are using 50% more resources than the Earth can regenerate.
  • By October last year, 220 ‘significant’ pipeline spills had occurred during 2016 in the United States alone.  Since 2006, a staggering 3,032 spills have been reported.  The costs of these leaks since 2006 has amounted to $4.7 billion.  Pipeline construction businesses continue to consistently argue that pipelines are environmentally safe.
  • The Guardian news service reported that at least 185 environmental activists were killed in 2015, with anti-mining activities being the most deadly with 42 deaths related to protests, the highest annual death toll on record and close to a 60% increase over the previous year, according to a UK-based watchdog.  Lethal attacks occurred across 16 countries.  Brazil was worst hit with 50 deaths, many of them killings of campaigners who were trying to combat illegal logging in the Amazon.  The Philippines was second with 33.  Colombia had 26 fatal attacks; Peru, 12; Nicaragua, 12; and Democratic Republic of Congo had 11.

Taurus is THE quintessentially feminine sign symbolizing pure YIN or feminine receptive energy.  Venus, the planet that rules Taurus, also rules resources as well as our planet Earth.

The etymology or linguistic root of both the words, ecology and economy, is ECO, which means house or household and the associated family it sustains.

Astrologically, both the economy and ecology are ruled by the planet Venus, the planet that rules women and all things feminine.  What beliefs do we hold, consciously and unconsciously, individually and collectively, about the value and worth of the feminine?  Do we believe in the POWER of the DIVINE FEMININE that nurtures and sustains all life?

Venus will be quite busy over the coming weeks as she returns to Aries on April 28th and begins to move through the powerful Cardinal T-Square over the coming month.

She will oppose Jupiter in Libra on May 19th.  Then she’ll square Pluto in Capricorn on May 25th.  And finally she’ll align precisely with Uranus in Aries on June 3rd.  As Venus re-ignites the change energy of the T-Square she’ll no doubt further shake things up to wake us up, particularly in matters associated with resources and relationships.

Notably, this Taurus New Moon chart contains another exciting conjunction or precise alignment between two more planets.  Uranus and retrograde Mercury are at 25 and 26 degrees Aries, respectively.  Just before Mercury began it’s current retrograde period, which began at 5 degrees Taurus on April 9th, it conjoined Uranus in Aries on March 26th.  Mercury will precisely conjoin Uranus two more times, just before and shortly after it stations direct resuming forward motion on May 3rd.  These two connections will occur on April 28th and May 10th.

This conjunction is exciting and meaningful for several reasons.  Mercury and Uranus are a natural planetary pair.  They both have to do with the mind and intellectual capacity.  Mercury rules the left brain and its logical, linear, deductive thought processes and patterns.  Uranus rules the collective mind of all of humanity or what is often referred to as ‘collective consciousness.’  It’s the planet associated with liberation and freedom that facilitates ongoing evolutionary progress.  Uranus is the planet of breakthroughs that sometimes requires break-ups and break-downs of old realities.  Uranus helps us to move forward, beyond outmoded and crystallized patterns and paradigms of the past that are preventing further growth and evolution.

Uranus also rules science and technology.  It’s connection with Mercury can manifest in surprising discoveries.  A timely example is a breakthrough in research by British scientists that have discovered a potential cause for Multiple Sclerosis.  Read more about this at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/23/breakthrough-multiple-sclerosis-research-scientists-discover/ .

Hundreds of thousands of people joined the March for Science in cities around the globe.

Science was front and center on Saturday, April 22nd, as EARTH DAY was celebrated by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide who participated in a global March for Science!

Remember Uranus in Aries is currently part of the powerful Cardinal T-Square with Pluto in  Capricorn and Jupiter in Libra.  It’s fueling the revolutionary change forces that are manifesting through growing numbers of politically active people worldwide who are standing up and speaking out in support of FACTS, TRUTH AND REALITY!

Marchers sent a message to those in positions of power and authority; make different CHOICES based upon SCIENCE and enact policies that put people and planet ahead of profits.  One of my favorite March for Science signs said, “Make America THINK Again!”

Another important astrological pattern inherent in the Taurus New Moon chart involves Mars.

This planet of desire and instinctive actions just moved into Gemini where it will energize lots and LOTS of communication and information exchanges.  Upon entering Gemini, Mars squared the Nodes of the Moon which are currently moving through the signs of Pisces and Virgo.

The Nodes of the Moon are extremely important astrologically.  They reflect our evolutionary path from the past to the future.  The evolutionary trajectory of Pisces and Virgo symbolize the path of spiritual development that heals all wounds.  Spiritual evolution occurs naturally when we choose a transcendent spiritual path that’s based upon natural laws, or the laws self-evident in the natural world or nature.

Natural spiritual development follows a path of service, humility and self-improvement.  This path lets go of the man-made religious delusion of perfection and all of the suffering it requires through ‘atonement’ for ‘sins.’  Natural spiritual development unfolds and occurs as we embrace timeless, universal spiritual principles like compassion, forgiveness and unconditional love.

The Moon’s Nodes are always exactly opposite one another or 180 degrees apart on the zodiac wheel or circle.  They always occupy signs that are opposite one another.  Typically the Nodes take about eighteen months to move through each pair of signs.  The Nodes are peculiar in that they move backward through the zodiac.  When the Nodes reach 1 degree of the signs they occupy, as they are now, they’re basically finishing up their journey through those signs.

When a planet squares the Nodes, it’s equidistant to them both since the square angle or aspect is 90 degrees which is half of 180 degrees.  So Mars is currently 90 degrees from the South Node in Pisces and 90 degrees from the North Node in Virgo.

Planets square the Nodes always reflect a CHOICE POINT!  The same dilemma spoken of earlier in this post concerning the ‘crises’ associated with square aspects relative to knowing which choice is the right choice pertains here as well.  Thankfully, when the Nodes are involved, they naturally determine the “right choice” to be made.

In the case of Mars in Gemini square the Nodes in Virgo and Pisces, the right choice is symbolized by the South Node in Pisces.  This choice requires letting go of feelings of victimization.  It requires reaching for the highest level of manifestation possible within the sign of Pisces – timeless, universal and transcendent spiritual values and principles.  This right choice is to forgive yourself and others for past mistakes.  It means choosing compassion over judgment and unconditional love over fear, anger and hatred.

Coincidentally, these right choices reflect the same energy that Venus now commands as she stands at 29 degrees of Pisces representing the ultimate spiritual evolution and reunification with the Divine Creative Source, particularly the Divine or Sacred Feminine.

So in the weeks ahead, as the energy of this Taurus New Moon unfolds, ponder what you value most.  Ponder your own value.  Think deeply about how you relate to money and to our precious and sacred Mother Earth.  Consider what level you’re operating at relative to resources and essential needs.  Are you chasing money or meaning?  Do you appreciate the abundance you already have?

Contemplate how you might reach to a higher level of expression of your own worth and value in this world.

In The Soul of Money, Lynne Twist also reminds us that what we appreciate, appreciates.  So finally, ask yourself one more timely and crucially important question.

Blessed be…

The Gemini New Moon occurs on May 25th at 12:44 pm MST!

Aries New Moon: Fuel for the Fires

The Aries New Moon happens Monday evening, March 27th, at 7:57 pm MST/PDT, at 7 degrees Aries 37 minutes.

Here’s the chart: AriesNewMoon2017.

As the first sign in the natural zodiac, Aries always reflects the energy of new beginnings.  Aries always acts instinctively to initiate new beginnings.

We witness this each Spring in the Northern hemisphere when the Sun enters Aries on the Spring Equinox and new life births itself throughout the natural world.  This explains why one of the symbols of this sign is a glyph that represents the sprout or seedling.

Aries is a FIRE sign.  In fact, Aries is the first sign of the FIRE element in the zodiac.  There are four zodiacal elements – FIRE, EARTH, AIR and WATER.  Each element is comprised of three zodiac signs.  Each sign within an element reflects one of the three different modalities within the zodiac.

There are three zodiacal modalities – CARDINAL, FIXED and MUTABLE.  Cardinal signs instinctively begin and initiate new actions; Fixed signs establish and secure what’s recently been initiated or begun, and Mutable signs change and adapt to what’s next.

Aries’ fellow FIRE element signs are Leo and Sagittarius.  Aries is the CARDINAL Fire sign while Leo is the FIXED Fire sign and Sagittarius is the MUTABLE Fire sign.  Interestingly, Leo, the second of the fire signs, is ruled by the Sun.  And the third and final fire sign, Sagittarius, rules the principle of growth and expansion.

Returning now to Aries glyph symbolizing the sprout or seedling, we can easily recognize the natural evolutionary progression through the FIRE element signs.  New plants instinctively (Aries) push their way through the soil as they reach for the Sun’s rays (Leo) in order to grow and flourish (Sagittarius).

ALL life begins instinctively, and then seeks out the light in its process of self-discovery and becoming, as it grows and expands into the fullness of its being.

Of course this same Aries glyph that represents the seedling or sprouting plant also symbolizes the great curved horns of the male Ram, the animal associated with the sign of Aries.

Anatomically, Aries rules the head.  The ‘head-butting’ behavior of male Rams typifies the intrinsically forceful nature and character of Aries that always acts instinctively in pursuit of its desires.  The Ram perfectly reflects the rashness of all that impulsive behavior.  It’s no wonder that Aries is often described as ‘head-strong’ in character!

All the Cardinal signs act instinctively, initiating new beginnings and activities.  The combination of both the CARDINAL MODALITY and the FIRE ELEMENT reveals why Aries represents PURE YANG energy.  Yang energy is pure creative force that ceaselessly moves out from the center to express itself as it manifests in the world.

Aries is like a hot red sports car; it doesn’t like braking and it doesn’t like stop signs and it surely doesn’t like cops!  In fact, one of the surest ways to anger Aries is to get in its way or attempt to limit, control or interfere with its need for complete independence and freedom.

But this sign’s notorious angry flare-ups and outbursts are understandable.  Aries NEEDS a lot of freedom and independence in order to instinctively act upon its desires!  From a spiritual evolutionary point of view, Aries facilitates the process of self-discovery.  Through instinctively initiating actions, Aries discovers who it is as an individual so that it can grow and flourish and expand into the fullness of becoming and expressing its unique self!

However, these instinctive actions frequently create situations of uncertainty and insecurity since they typically take Aries into unknown, unfamiliar and uncertain territory.

Wile E. Coyote of the Roadrunner cartoon fame perfectly reflects the Aries archetype.  The Coyote ALWAYS  instinctively chases the Roadrunner!  Unfortunately, it’s only AFTER Coyote has impulsively begun the chase that he realizes he’s run off the edge of a cliff!

This characteristic nature of the sign also serves an evolutionary purpose; it teaches Aries courage.  Aries must overcome it’s fears of the new and unknown.  As a result, Aries will often force itself into new experiences and adventures just to prove it’s courage to itself!  This attribute of Aries reflects the natural leadership ability this sign is so well-known for.  Pioneers, trail-blazers and warriors all reflect the Aries archetype.

I wanted to thoroughly explain the inherent nature of the ENERGY of Aries to help readers understand the EXTRAORDINARY AMOUNT of forceful, instinctive, impulsive energy being seeded by this Aries New Moon.  This is due to the fact that the Sun and Moon are not alone in Aries.  They are joined by Mercury, retrograde Venus and Uranus also in Aries in the New Moon chart pattern.

Additionally, each and every one of these Aries planets is significantly ‘aspected’ or in an angular relationship connecting them to other planets or planetary configurations in the heavens now.  These aspect connections add even more energy to the current Aries New Moon celestial pattern.  They add fuel to the fires!

Let’s take a look now at these planetary connections…

First, the Sun and Moon are most closely aligned with retrograde Venus in Aries.  Venus has to do with love and beauty, values and worth, resources and relationships.  The rarest of all planetary retrogrades, Venus is only retrograde for about 6 weeks every year and a half.  This bi-annual retrograde encourages review and reflection upon essential needs and values as well as relationship dynamics.

During every Venus retrograde period we all have an opportunity to think deeply about love and money.  How well do you manage your resources?  What’s the nature of your relationship to your self?  Do you value and respect yourself?  Do you feel worthy or unworthy?  What have your patterns of experience in relationships been like?  Have you noticed that others treat you like YOU treat you?!

The Aries New Moon’s close connection to Venus retrograde is saying, “Seek love and beauty both within and without.  Invest your time, energy and resources into what’s really most important to you and reflects your core values.  Learn to take better care of yourself and watch your relationships with others improve.  Treat yourself the way you wish to be treated by others and marvel at how others respond in kind.”

Venus will return to Pisces before completing its retrograde.  Confusion may reign as it does so.  Accept the confusion as it is part of the Pisces process of dissolving whatever is preventing our ongoing spiritual growth.  Clarity always returns of itself when the process of dissolution is complete.

When Venus stations direct on April 15th completing its retrograde, it will conjoin Chiron in Pisces.  This connection symbolizes both the need and the opportunity for the ultimate healing of hurts and wounds, especially those of a psychological or spiritual nature.

Pisces is the sign associated with the spiritual path.  This sign teaches unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, understanding and non-judgement.  Ask for spiritual guidance if you need it for it will surely be available.  Take time for yourself to meditate or pray or just check in with your intuition for answers.  Also pay close attention to your dreams.  Since Pisces rules the unconscious, the source of our dreams, they too may offer important insights and understandings.

The Cardinal T-Square is quite significantly featured in the Aries New Moon chart pattern.  Long-term listeners to my Heavenly Help podcasts* likely know by now that this Cardinal T-Square pattern has been dominating the heavens since late last year and will continue to do so until late this summer.  This T-Square is comprised of Uranus in Aries, which is opposite (180 degrees) Jupiter in Libra, and both are simultaneously square (90 degrees) Pluto in Capricorn.  Aries, Libra and Capricorn are all Cardinal modality signs which instinctively initiate new beginnings.

The core energy connection within this T-Square is between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn.  Again, those who follow astrology in general, or my work specifically, know that Uranus square Pluto is THE astrological pattern in the heavens that’s been reflecting the profound changes we’ve experienced here on Earth since 2008, socially, economically, politically and culturally.  Even religious and scientific institutions, reality structures and paradigms have been dramatically changing worldwide.

On a mundane level, these changes have included the economic meltdown that began on Wall Street, the many revolutionary geo-political realignments planet-wide like the Arab Spring who’s chaotic fall-out continues, and more currently the Brexit vote in the UK that chose to leave the EU.  Changes also include the resurgence of cold-war era relations between the United States and Russia and unexpected cultural shifts in issues like marriage equality and trans-gender rights.  On a spiritual evolutionary level however, the highest potential manifestation of Uranus square Pluto is a quantum breakthrough in collective human consciousness.

Since quantum science has proven that consciousness creates our reality, it’s increasingly evident, to more and more people, that the more we change our consciousness (spiritual evolutionary level) the more we will change our outer worldly realities (mundane level).

One of the ‘power-players’ in the old social reality paradigm is corporate media.  They continue to maintain the status quo of the establishment both in Washington DC and on Wall Street.  They have mightily resisted necessary evolutionary changes.

The selectivity of their news coverage focuses almost entirely on issues and topics that support their corporate agendas and profit motives.  The ‘news’ they do choose to deliver is often distorted and fear-based with an intention to obfuscate the truth rather than inform and enlighten the citizenry.

Discerning what’s true and what’s not true has been an ongoing crucial lesson in the evolution of our collective consciousness.  Recently, the proliferation of ‘fake news’ has greatly intensified the need for this discernment.

Evidence of this was just displayed prominently on the front cover of Time Magazine’s current edition as they asked, “Is Truth Dead?”

This past week Mercury connected with ALL the planets in the T-Square.  First it squared (90 degrees) Pluto in Capricorn on March 23rd, then opposed (180 degrees) Jupiter in Libra on March 24th, and JUST conjoined (aligned at the exact same degree) Uranus in Aries yesterday on March 26th.

ALL three of these Mercury connections are a part of the energetic pattern of the Aries New Moon chart.  Further, Jupiter will make the second of three total squares to Pluto itself on March 30th (the first was November 25, 2015 and the third will be on August 4, 2017).  Jupiter rules the search for truth so it’s likely more truths, and more lies, will be exposed in the coming days…

Mercury is the ‘Messenger’ planet so it rules all kinds of information and modes of communication including the media.  Remember that Mercury is one of the prominent Aries planets in the New Moon chart pattern.  It’s movement through the T-Square this week coincided with an explosion of surprising and shocking news events.

Journalists were so exhausted as they breathlessly raced from one breaking news story to another to another, many of them commented about the difficulty they were having keeping up with the overwhelming amount of information being discovered, disclosed and reported.

Mercury is currently slowing down ahead of its upcoming station retrograde on April 9th.  Although this second Mercury retrograde period of 2017 begins in Taurus, Mercury will re-enter Aries as it traverses back through the zodiac reconnecting with Uranus in Aries again before it completes its retrograde on May 3rd.  The headlines that first appeared this past week will no doubt continue to unfold as they are revisited again and again as Mercury retraces some of the same T-Square territory two more times in the coming weeks.

Specifically, Mercury will connect with Uranus again on April 28th and May 9th.  Expect EVEN MORE unexpected and dramatic information to come to light during this time.  Be mindful too of all the information coming your way personally during this same time frame.  Know that precisely the information you NEED to move forward in new directions in your own life will show up for you.  Your job is to PAY ATTENTION and then act upon that information whether it be factual information from physical sources or intuitive information from metaphysical sources.

One more extremely important reason to focus attention on Mercury now has to do with the chart of the United States.  In the progressed US chart (progressions are an astrological procedure that unfolds a natal chart through time), Mercury has been retrograde since May 1995.  On April 2nd, the progressed US Mercury will station direct in the sign of Aquarius, the sign ruled by Uranus!   Here’s the natal and progressed US charts:  USNatal&Prog040217.

Remember, Mercury is currently transiting through Aries connecting and reconnecting with Uranus which is also in Aries!  This astrological coincidence between the real-time movement of Mercury through the heavens now, and the movement of Mercury in the progressed US chart which is about to resume forward motion after being retrograde for nearly 22 years, is nothing short of mind-blowing.  Perhaps a better way of describing this synchronicity is Divine Timing!

I’ve been watching this US progressed retrograde Mercury for years now, wondering what will manifest when it stations direct this April.

Mercury is an extremely important planet in the US chart since it rules Gemini, our nation’s Rising sign or Ascendant.**

Mercury is also a significant planet in Donald Trump’s chart since his Sun is in Gemini where it conjoins both his natal North Node and his natal Uranus which are also in Gemini!  He’s often accurately described as ‘Mercurial.’  He’s also been called rebellious, unconventional and chaotic – all Uranian traits that reflect the weight of his Sun’s connection to Uranus in his natal chart!

Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius, an unconventional archetype indeed.  It’s evolutionary purpose is CHANGE!  This sign’s job is to shake us up in order to wake us up.  Uranus and Aquarius liberate us from the past and help us to break free of whatever is preventing ongoing evolutionary growth.

Of course some changes are easily embraced while others are strongly resisted.  In the end however, the forces of evolution ALWAYS overcome the forces of resistance.  When evolutionary changes are resisted for far too long, Uranus and Aquarius bring revolution to enforce the necessary changes.

As journalists re-awaken to the awesome responsibility they have within any democratic society, they’re beginning to once again challenge those in power, holding them accountable in ways that frankly hasn’t been the norm in the US for decades.

Citizens are also re-awakening to their civic duty.  A groundswell of political activism has been growing all across this country for many months now.  It began during the recent presidential campaign season and dramatically increased the day after Trump’s inauguration as millions participated in the Women’s March in Washington, a political protest repeated in hundreds of cities all across the US, as well as in many other major cities throughout the world.

We are witnessing a growing level of social unrest and political activism (Uranus and Aquarius) not seen in the US since the sixties.  Interestingly, the current decade-long connection between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn marks the first major phase (1st quarter square phase) of unfolding of the 127 year cycle between these two heavyweight planets that began in…   wait for it…   the SIXTIES!

When I hear people say that current events remind them of the sixties, they’re unwittingly revealing just how much they’re intuitively and psychically tuned-into the zeitgeist of the time!

So the US progressed retrograde Mercury is literally standing still or ‘stationary’ now.   Which means it is also extremely potently energized (planets are most powerful when stationary).  As it changes direction and resumes forward motion once again, the things associated with Mercury will also change direction, turn around and begin to move forward again.

According to the natural law of correspondences, or what is more commonly referred to as the, ‘As Above; So Below’ principle, America is likely on the verge of an historic event that will itself reflect a turn around, or change in direction as well.  Whatever happens, it will no doubt have important, far-reaching consequences for our country and perhaps even for the rest of the world.

Of course we’ll have to wait to see what actually happens, but the wait won’t be for long since April 2nd is but a week away.  At the very least we can expect the disclosure of even MORE information!  And we can expect this information to have the power to dramatically change our realities both personally and collectively.

Another major planetary connection in the Aries New Moon chart pattern involves the Sun.  Just like Mercury, the Sun will similarly move through the T-Square over the next couple of weeks.  It too will connect with Pluto, then Jupiter and then Uranus.

Of course the Sun always sheds light on whatever it touches so perhaps some new info will bring much needed clarity to some of the otherwise incredibly mysterious and unexplained recent news events like the alleged Russian hacking of our presidential election, or why so many Trump campaign associates have ties with Russian officials or what evidence House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes received, and from whom, on the grounds at the White House last week!

The bottom line for everyone is to PAY ATTENTION to ALL the information, insights, messages, data and knowledge coming your way.  It’s not only likely to be quite revelatory, like those famous AHA moments, but it’s also more than likely to be precisely the information you need to break free of the past, or whatever is holding you back, so that you can successfully initiate new directions in your life and move forward on your personal evolutionary path!  Consider these messages to be ‘postcards from your Soul!’

To even more deeply understand the energetic blueprint of this Aries New Moon pattern we now need to analyze the planet Mars since he rules the sign of Aries and therefore rules this New Moon chart.

Currently, Mars is moving through the sign of Taurus.  The first thing to understand about Mars in Taurus is that it symbolizes the hot red sports car coming to a STOP SIGN!

Taurus is quintessential PURE YIN energy reflecting energy that moves inward towards the center.  YIN energy is passive and receptive, not active and expressive like YANG energy.

Mars in Taurus encourages us to act SLOWLY and only after careful and thorough consideration – not instinctively or impulsively – as is the habit of Mars and Aries the sign it rules.

Mars is making several aspects to other planets in the Aries New Moon chart.  It’s sextile (60 degrees) Neptune in Pisces, semi-square (45 degrees) Chiron in Pisces and sesquiquadrate (135 degrees) Saturn in Sagittarius.  Since Taurus rules essential needs, values and meaning in life, it will be important to make choices and take actions that reflect your personal values.  What’s really most important and meaningful to you?  What truly reflects and expresses your own worth and core values?

Mars and Neptune symbolize ‘walking your talk’ or ‘inspired actions’ and even ‘divine interventions.’  Mars and Chiron encourage forgiveness of ourselves and others for past mistakes.  They also caution us to be careful not to succumb to a victim mentality or a negative mindset that will simply re-create old wounds and keep co-creating unsatisfactory realities.  Mars and Chiron hold out the promise of deep psychological and spiritual healing if we choose to use their energy positively instead of negatively.

And Mars and Saturn are saying, “It’s time to take COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY for ALL our choices and actions.”  Remember, perfection and evolution are antithetical.  They are mutually exclusive.  Mistakes and errors are the stuff of evolution.  Learn and grow from them instead of letting them undermine self-confidence and reaffirm negative thoughts, beliefs and mindsets about yourself and the world.

Mars will also trine (120 degrees) Pluto in Capricorn on April 5th promising results, rewards and achievements of desires for those who make the efforts described above.

Finally, it may be appropriate to remind ourselves that we are indeed living in extraordinary times!  For millennia, cultures all over the world have shared their prophecies about this time in human history.  Universally, they all foresaw a potential for a quantum leap forward in human evolution.  Many of them additionally saw this evolutionary growth happening as a result of breakthroughs in human consciousness.

In a another profound example of the ‘As Above, So Below’ principle, the God particle was discovered at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland the same week Uranus and Pluto experienced the first of seven precise square (90 degrees) aspects between one another that began in June of 2012 and ended in March of 2015.  Although those exact square alignments are finished, Uranus and Pluto are still connected with one another and so their evolutionary and revolutionary energies are still unfolding and manifesting through our personal and collective choices.  What could be more r-evolutionary than the discovery of a particle that helps further explain creation?

This Aries New Moon is a powerful celestial event signaling a time of increasing evolutionary change and growth.  But before you race ahead full speed (I’m talking to all you red hot sports car drivers), Venus retrograde, the upcoming Mercury retrograde and Mars in Taurus are all flashing bright yellow caution signs saying, “There’s a stop light ahead.  Slow down and take your time.  Thoroughly review needs, desires and values before you move forward.  Take responsibility.  Do due diligence as you consider new directions and plans.  Reflect deeply.  Know precisely WHO and WHAT are deserving of your time, energy, attention and resources.”

How will you know?  Follow your heart’s true desires.  Pursue what is most important and meaningful to you.  Pursue what you LOVE and what reflects your core values.

There’s plenty of fuel for those fires.  Though they may be burning slowly, they’ll burn brightly if they’re burning in your heart…

Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse: Liberation or Self-Imprisonment

piscesglyph31The Pisces New Moon on February 26th is an Annular Solar Eclipse!  It occurs at 7:58 am MST at 8 degrees Pisces 12 minutes.

Here’s the chart:  piscesnewmoonsolareclipse2017.

This Pisces New Moon is part of a tremendous Pisces stellium, or a cluster of three or more planets in the same sign.  This Pisces New Moon stellium contains SEVEN celestial points including 6 planets and the Moon’s South Node.  That’s a LOT of Pisces energy!

As the final sign of the natural zodiac, Pisces is always associated with endings, completion and culmination.  With so much Pisces energy emphasized in this New Moon chart pattern, we can expect MANY old realities, paradigms, structures,  circumstances and situations to come to an end.

Further, since the New Moon is also conjunct, or in very close alignment with the Moon’s South Node, these endings will be absolute with far-reaching consequences.  This is because the South Node symbolizes the past and what needs to be released for evolutionary growth to continue.   Holding on or trying to maintain whatever has reached its limitations or exhausted its natural energy and purpose, actually interferes with and prevents further evolution.  Clinging to the past always ensures an ongoing re-creation of the past.

We must understand however that tleapoffaith2he challenge in letting go of the past is that it always represents what’s well known and familiar.   Familiarity breeds security; unfamiliarity breeds insecurity.   Letting go of what’s familiar often leads to uncertainty.  Venturing into the unknown creates insecurity that can be frightening.  Sometimes letting go can require enormous courage.  To do so we must take the proverbial ‘leap of faith.’

Fortunately, for those who trust in the Divine, faith often comes much more easily.  So thank heavens for this Pisces New Moon and it’s tremendous Pisces stellium because Pisces is the sign of faith!  Spiritual guidance, divine wisdom and inner peace are readily available now with such an abundance of Pisces energy.

Ask and ye shall receive…

onenessPisces is a vast archetype.  It embodies all twelve zodiac signs and therefore rules every possible human experience.  It rules the totality of consciousness, which creates reality.  It rules universality.  Universality is associated with the principle of connectedness that reflects the natural LAW OF ONE – that everyone and everything is connected energetically – to each other and to the Divine Source that created us all.

Quantum science long ago verified this natural law as truth.

With utterly no separation and no boundaries, no structural definition or limits, there is no way to distinguish this from that, or me from you.  This is only one of the many reasons that Pisces is often associated with confusion.

Confusion is a necessary Pisces experience however, since this sign’s evolutionary intention is to DISSOLVE whatever we falsely believe in or have given too much meaning to with the hope that it will bring us happiness, fulfillment and well-being.

All too often, these things actually separate us from, or prevent us from seeking a deeper relationship with the sacred aspects of life.  In biblical terms, they are ‘false idols.’  Ultimate meaning and true fulfillment can only come from reunification with the Divine Creative Source or what we call Spirit, God or Goddess.  People and things lose their meaning when they interfere with this spiritual connection.

Pisces ALWAYS operates through a process of dissolution.  And as dissolution occurs, we naturally experience confusion.  Realize this dissolution has a spiritual evolutionary purpose.  Realize too that when the dissolution process is complete, we can experience absolute clarity.  Dissolution brings confusion.  As our consciousness awakens to Divine Truth or the reality of wholeness, of ONE-NESS, clarity returns and replaces confusion.  Just ask anyone who has experienced their individual consciousness merging with the totality of the universe.  When this occurs, it’s always described as a spiritual awakening that brings the ultimate realization of truth.  What could be more clear?

onenessreturntospiritSo Pisces is the sign associated with natural laws and the awakening of human consciousness.  It reflects the natural spiritual evolutionary developmental path.  This final sign of the zodiac naturally symbolizes the Soul’s ultimate desire, which is the desire to return to and reunite with the Divine Creative Source that created it.

It is perhaps helpful to also understand that Pisces rules all sources of water including the oceans.  We often use the phrase ‘sea of consciousness’ to describe the totality of collective human consciousness.  We also use the Pisces words ‘universal’ and ‘solvent’ together to describe the dissolving quality of water.

On a mundane level, the subject of water is currently capturing headlines as record rainfall in drought-stricken California resulted in the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people as the overflow spillway in the Oroville Dam dangerously eroded.  This dam is a crucial part of the state’s water distribution infrastructure.

Indeed headlines are full of things ruled by Pisces including poisons, prisons, lies, infectious diseases, chemicals, oil, drugs, addiction, places of worship, spies and even bathrooms!  Current associated news stories include:

  • The alleged assassination of Kim Jung Nam, the half-brother of North Korea’s Leader Kim Jung Il, by Vx, a deadly chemical weapon nerve agent poison
  • The ongoing discovery of lead poisoning in municipal water sources in hundreds of cities and towns all across the United States, not just in Flint, Michigan
  • The serial lies of Donald Trump
  • Newly appointed US Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ first legal decision:  rescinding the Obama administration’s ‘guidance on transgender students’ that allowed them to use the bathroom associated with their gender identity in compliance with federal non-discrimination laws
  • The reversal last week by Attorney General Sessions of an Obama era DOJ decision to phase out the use of private prisons
  • The increasing threat of drug-resistant strains of bacteria that recently resulted in the first documented death in the United States
  • The mutation of a strain of bird flu that just resulted in another culling of millions of birds in poultry farms in Asia
  • The World Health Organization’s recent release of a risk assessment report warning of increasing danger of pandemic disease outbreaks worldwide
  • The growing opioid addiction crisis in the United States
  • The recent spike in attacks (120 since January 1st) on Jewish Community Centers all across America including vandalism and bomb threats
  • Trump’s reversal of Obama administration decisions halting construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines
  • Calls by Republican Congressional Intelligence Committee Chairmen this week for an Independent Investigation into alleged election interference by Russian hacking as well as ongoing contact and possible collusion between Trump aides and Russian operatives (aka spies) during the US presidential campaign
  • Court ordered release of newly confirmed EPA Secretary Pruitt’s emails from his tenure as Oklahoma State Attorney General that revealed a history of collusion with oil and gas industry lobbyists who provided ‘cut and paste’ ready legislative language intended to defeat federal environmental regulations

While the highest expression or manifestation of Pisces energy is spiritual development and the pursuit of connection with the Divine, the lowest expression of this sign is the desire to escape reality when it feels too painful or becomes a source of overwhelming disillusionment or disappointment.  Remember, Pisces is an extremely emotionally sensitive sign.  Pisces feels everything to the ‘nth’ degree.

despairThe desire to escape can become a causal factor that leads to substance abuse and addiction for those who feel powerlessness to change their reality.  This of course then leads to even more fear and more despair.

The dissolving nature of Pisces can further erode reality, undermining an ability to face up to the truth about what’s just not working anymore.

Delusions, deceptions, illusions, false idealism and fantasies have no basis in reality.  These too are associated with Pisces.

Tchoiceshis sense of powerlessness itself is a false and distorted reality.  Humans are intrinsically powerful through their ability to make free will choices.

Choices reflect the very nature of any individual’s quality of consciousness.  Remember, consciousness creates reality.

Whether you identify with being a victim of circumstances or a co-creator of circumstances is always your choice.

Those who feel victimized unwittingly maintain a quality of consciousness that is self-defeating and ultimately self-imprisoning.

It’s important to understand the downside of this sign now since the great emphasis of Pisces energy in this New Moon Solar Eclipse can also plant ‘seeds’ of utter destruction and self-undoing for those who choose to use it unwisely.

To bust out and break free requires making different choices.  Taking complete responsibility for ALL your choices is also required.  Thankfully, this Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse chart pattern has another extraordinary planetary connection that can provide just the ticket to liberation from the despair and disillusionment that creates self-made prisons!

Mars is within just minutes of a precise connection with Uranus in Aries.  It simultaneously opposes retrograde Jupiter in Libra that will itself also oppose Uranus for the second of three times on March 2nd.  Jupiter and Uranus continue to be part of a dynamic revolutionary T-Square configuration that also includes Pluto in Capricorn.  This  T-Square is THE heavenly pattern associated with the increasing social unrest, political activism and chaotic changes happening here in the United States and throughout the world as old social, political, cultural and economic realities continue to be challenged and continue to disintegrate.

havesandhavenotsJupiter in Libra opposite Uranus in Aries in the T-Square reflect the extreme levels of inequality  between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots’ globally.  Pluto in Capricorn represents those in positions of power and authority in governments and social institutions the world over who are resisting many of the changes their citizens are increasingly demanding.

This T-Square clearly represents a power struggle between the past and future, between those who are resisting the status quo and those who are trying to maintain it.  From an evolutionary point of view, its helpful to know that in the end, the forces of evolution always overcome the forces of resistance.  For those who are reeling from all the chaos in the world right now, remember that evolution is a long game.  Patience, as well as persistence are always required to bring about necessary evolutionary change, particularly on a social or collective level.

As Mars enters the T-Square and connects with Uranus, enormous energies and forces for change are available.  On a personal level, this energy can provide the courage necessary to take those leaps of faith and to leave the security and familiarity of the past behind in order to chart a new course or path forward.  Mars and Uranus are the keys to the prison cells.  They are the ‘rocket fuel’ that can spur the manifestation of sudden, unexpected and even shocking events that forever change the landscape for individuals, communities and even countries.

In the latter days of March, Mercury will also enter the T-Square and connect with Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus too.  Since Mercury rules knowledge, information, and all forms of communication, expect important messages and insights to further spur revelations and revolutions.  While ‘fake news’ has come to dominate our attention lately, this Mercury passage through the T-Square may well bring ‘shocking news’ and exposure of facts, truths and realities that quite powerfully change the course of current events.

pressistheenemyofthepeopleInterestingly, in the US progressed chart (progressions slowly ‘unfold’ any natal chart to a current point in time), our nation’s Mercury has been retrograde since 1995.  It will station direct, resuming forward motion in early April this year.  Through it’s association with information and communication, Mercury also rules the media and the press.

President Trump recently called the US media the ‘enemy of the people.’  The White House has also recently refused to grant press credentials to several reputable news organizations including CNN, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Huffington Post and Politico.   Perhaps the American media is now motivated more than ever before to ferret out truths and expose lies?

When retrograde planets change direction and begin to move forward once again, all the things associated with that planetary archetype also begin to move forward, often in quite remarkable ways.  Stay tuned, because April may well bring explosive information to light that alters the course of our nation’s history.

One more very important astrological event happens this month.  Venus will begin her bi-annual retrograde period for six weeks on March 4th.  She too is currently in Aries energizing the cardinal T-Square.  But she won’t connect with Pluto, Jupiter or Uranus until after her retrograde is complete in mid-April.  Yes, Venus will provide even MORE celestial energy to events occurring in April.

Ruling resources and relationships, values and valuables, Venus retrograde periods are always a time for review and reflection upon our experiences with love and money.  Often, people or circumstances from our past relevant to these issues resurface to remind us of what our past experiences with them were like so that when the retrograde period is over, wiser choices can be made moving forward.  Venus retrograde periods accelerate the evolutionary process regarding how we manage our valuable resources so that we can more successfully meet our needs, and how we relate to ourselves and others so our relationships and partnerships are healthier.  This applies to nations as well as individuals.  Clearly, we can do better given the current state of extreme inequality previously mentioned.

solareclipsediamondringFinally, Solar Eclipses interrupt the flow of the cosmic energies that continuously intelligently inform our consciousness individually and collectively.  I always liken them to ‘reboots’ of our personal computers or what we call our brains!

Solar Eclipses also precisely repeat every nineteen years.  They return to the exact same degree in the zodiac and as a result, repeat the same energetic blueprint of celestial influences.

What was happening in your life in 1998?  Have you noticed threads of similarity in what’s currently unfolding in your personal experiences?  If so, those previous events can powerfully inform your awareness of current events.  They can offer insights and understanding that help you to make wiser choices now.

getoutofjailfree2The message of this Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse is to LET GO of what is complete, finished, done, dying, delusional, unhealthy or false.

This must occur BEFORE actions are taken to move in new directions and create new realities if they’re to be successful in the end.

Face realities squarely, find the courage to make different choices and take a leap of faith to liberate yourself!

This Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse is indeed your ‘get out of jail free card!’

Aquarius New Moon: Revolution is in the Air!

AquariusImage19The Aquarius New Moon occurs on January 27th at 5:07 pm MST at 8 degrees Aquarius 15 minutes.

Here’s the chart:  aquariusnewmoon2017

Aquarius is the third and final air sign in the zodiac.  Many people erroneously think it’s a water sign due to its glyph showing a woman pouring water out of an urn.

What’s actually being poured out is COSMIC WISDOM, or divine intelligence, which clearly marks this sign as one associated with the air element, the element that rules the mind, knowledge and intellectual capacity.

In ancient times, the sign of Aquarius was associated with Sophia, the Goddess of wisdom.  In fact, prior to the onset of the Patriarchy (6500 BC), wisdom had always been associated with the feminine.  After thousands of years of patriarchal dominance and suppression however, all things feminine, including our ‘Mother’ Earth, have been relegated to a relative position of inferiority compared to masculinity.

The primary sources responsible for this gender imbalance are man-made religions which have conditioned us for thousands of years to believe that women are associated with evil and that all humanity is born sinful simply because they are born of women.  These false teachings and influences persist to this day as evidenced in social and cultural beliefs, laws and policies that continue to seek to control women in general, and to control female bodies and feminine sexuality in particular.

In fact, the parliament in Russia just recently voted to decriminalize domestic violence:  http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/victims-angry-over-russia-cutting-domestic-abuse-penalties/ar-AAmBz6n

Russia is not alone in its misogyny.  Here in the United States, the Violence Against Women’s Act, first passed in 1994, was recently opposed by conservative Republicans in Congress when it came up for renewal in 2012.  They objected to extending the Act’s protections to same-sex couples and to provisions allowing battered illegal immigrants to claim temporary visas.  Ultimately, the Act was reauthorized in 2013, after more than a year-long pitched legislative battle.

Enlightened men, young and old, joined in the Women's March on Washington DC.

Enlightened men, young and old, joined in the Women’s March on Washington DC.

It is a profound coincidence (incidents that coincide) that this powerful Aquarius New Moon celestial pattern has formed in the heavens within just days of the momentous Women’s March on Washington, DC, and the many associated Women’s Marches in hundreds of other cities all around the world.  As above, so below.

Yes, revolution is in the air.  And it will be led and sustained by women.  Women of all races, creeds, faiths and nationalities all across the planet are stepping forward and moving forward once again even in the face of tremendous historical and ongoing push-back by entrenched patriarchal (male-dominated) social and political forces.

The Soul level intention of Aquarius is to liberate from any and all circumstances that are preventing ongoing evolutionary growth.  This Aquarius New Moon is reflecting extraordinary revolutionary forces.  The heavens seem to be saying that we’ve reached a turning point regarding r-evolutionary impulses and forces for change!

Following Capricorn in the natural sequence order of the zodiac signs, Aquarius helps to break up, break down and break through what is stuck or ‘crystallized.’  Capricorn represents all the existing ‘conventional’ norms and rules associated with established social structures, traditions and expectations that are stuck in the past.  Indeed, Capricorn is the sign associated with patriarchy.

When the 1% of any society’s elite authority figures and leaders resist necessary changes for too long (Capricorn), the will of the 99% or the masses who desire change and progress inevitably coalesces into forces of resistance that grow into forces of rebellion and ultimately morph into forces of revolution (Aquarius).

Of course, those resisting, rebelling and revolting are not always all on the same page!  While some forces desire to return to the past, as evidenced by growing protectionist national identify political factions (Saturn), other forces are compelled to move forward (Uranus) towards a greater unity consciousness that desires greater connection and community among all nations and peoples.

pastvsfutureAquarius reflects this polarity through its dual rulership by both Saturn (past) and Uranus (future).  Of course, many people will find themselves in the middle of the Aquarian bell curve so to speak, wanting to preserve the best of the past while working to bring about much needed change and progress that will move us all forward into a better future. freedomvsresponsibility

Interestingly, Uranus and Saturn also rule freedom and responsibility.  These two always go together.  It’s true that if you desire freedom, you must also be willing to assume greater responsibility.  And likewise, the more responsible you are, the more freedom you have.

It’s time for the masses to reclaim responsibility for their well-being and the well-being of their communities, instead of relying upon outer sources to take care of them, like governments, which are utterly corrupt.

Governments worldwide are disintegrating, failing and crumbling.  This reality is reflected in the heavens through Pluto (death and rebirth) moving through the sign of Capricorn (governments) from 2008 to 2025.  Currently, Pluto has reached the mid-point of Capricorn and accordingly, is increasingly gathering powerful momentum.

I have long believed that humanity is currently evolving towards a future that is post-national and post-governmental.  Perhaps it will take several centuries before this reality totally manifests.  Nevertheless, I think it’s where we’re heading.  This is because evolution always occurs through opposite signs.  Since governments are ruled by Capricorn, the evolutionary trajectory points to Cancer, its opposite sign.

Cancer is the sign associated with the grass roots of any society.  It also rules families and community.  Cancer rules the masses.  Capricorn rules nations, leaders and societal institutions.  In this natural evolutionary process, power and authority will necessarily decentralize to a local level.  Accordingly, responsibility will return to communities.  And as a result, individuals and communities will also experience greater freedoms.

Currently, the modern ruler of Aquarius, Uranus, is continuing to move through the sign of Aries (2010 through 2018).  Uranus is making a very favorable trine aspect (120 degrees) now to Aquarius’ ancient co-ruler, Saturn, which is in Sagittarius (2014 through 2017).  This positive connection promises advances in social, cultural and political structures and paradigms.  It also portends an ease of energies focused on continuing to reveal truths and expose lies in surprising and unexpected ways that support social progress.

The Women's March spills into Third Street in Washington, DC, January 21, 2017, the day after President Donald Trump's inauguration.

The Women’s March spills into Third Street in Washington, DC, January 21, 2017, the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Differing beliefs (Sagittarius) are the primary cause of many of our most intractable conflicts.  But the supportive energy of these two giants (Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries) can assist those who wish to move forward in new (Aries) directions and to bridge the gaps that divide us.

As more lies and more truths are revealed, humanity will continue to awaken to a greater awareness that cannot help but further the shift in human consciousness that’s been greatly accelerating in correlation to the most important current astrological pattern in the heavens:  the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto.

As we expand our consciousness and awareness relative to our place within the whole of the universe, the more will we begin to recognize our similarities more than our differences.

Perhaps this expansion of the collective consciousness will be greatly enhanced by widespread public dissemination of the work of Dr. Steven Greer.  He has spent the last thirty years of his life on The Disclosure Project – a quintessential Aquarian endeavor if ever there was one!  To learn more about Greer and his work visit his website at http://www.disclosureproject.org/

Dr. Greer is planning a simultaneous worldwide release of both a book and a documentary film by late March or early April entitled, Unacknowledged:  An Expose of the Greatest Secret in Human History.  Watch the trailer here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_-VPmD7kUk

Uranus and Saturn are each also making important aspects to other planets in the New Moon chart pattern.  Saturn in Sagittarius is currently challenged by debilitating squares (90 degrees) to Venus, Chiron and Mars – all in Pisces.  And Uranus in Aries is part of a powerful cardinal T-Square!  It not only continues its decade-long square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn (2010 through 2020), but is also caught up in an opposition (180 degrees) to Jupiter in Libra through September of this year!  This cardinal T-Square is a dynamic celestial pattern reflecting instinctive actions that always initiate necessary change.

Uranus in Aries opposite Jupiter in Libra symbolize both the extreme levels of inequality in our relationships, and the revolutionary urge to break up, break down and break free of old corrupt social, economic, political and cultural paradigms.  This opposition will be further strengthened and emphasized as Jupiter stations retrograde on February 5th/6th depending on your time zone.

As Jupiter retrogrades back through Libra over the next four months (until June 9th) take the opportunity to review and reflect upon your beliefs, particularly the beliefs you hold about all the relationships in your life.  Opposite Uranus in Aries, Jupiter’s station is likely to bring some fairly dramatic changes or perhaps shocking upsets to some relationships.  Perhaps the most important truth (Jupiter) reflected in Jupiter in Libra is that the revolution most needed to restore balance (Libra) to our world is the restoration of the value and rights of women!

Mercury and Mars also join in and further energize the T-Square this month as they move through Capricorn and Aries.

Mercury will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn on January 29th bringing powerful communications, messages, information and knowledge to the change pattern of the T-Square.  Continuing through Capricorn, it will square Uranus in Aries on January 31st and square Jupiter in Libra on February 2nd.

womensmarchwashdc6Mars enters Aries, its own sign, on January 27th, the same day as the Aquarius New Moon.  Mars is like rocket fuel so it will ignite the change potential of the T-Square.  Passions will increase as social unrest intensifies.  Expect more and more people to push back against the status quo associated with literally every social structure and institution that underpins governments worldwide.

Mars will square Pluto in Capricorn on February 22nd and conjunct Uranus in Aries on February 26th, the day of the Pisces New Moon Solar eclipse!  And finally, Mars will oppose retrograde Jupiter in Libra the following day, February 27th.  Significant personal and global events with far-reaching consequences are likely on any or all of these days!

Watch as many important relationships, from one on one partnerships to national alliances, change in surprising and unexpected ways in the coming weeks and months. You may observe some of your own personal relationships undergoing changes.  You may also see important shifts between and among national leaders.  Remember, break-ups and break-downs are often necessary in order to achieve breakthroughs!

Pay very close attention to who’s being inclusive (matriarchy) and who’s being exclusive (patriarchy).  Listen to the words people use.  Know that those who favor inclusiveness reflect the progressive forces of change that will ultimately move humanity forward into a better future.

Pluto in Capricorn’s role within the T-Square reflects those in positions of authority within society whether they be political, corporate, economic, scientific or religious figures.  The squares Pluto is making to both Uranus and Jupiter reflect the establishment leaders who are resisting necessary evolutionary changes, many of whom have and continue to abuse their power and authority.

Former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh. He lost his most recent presidential bid to opponent Adama Barrow who won a decisive victory but was sworn into office in neighboring Senegal as Jammeh initially refused to relinquish power. Other African Presidents, as well as the threat of force by an African military coalition finally persuaded him to step down and leave the country.

Such a leader is Yahya Jammeh, long-time President of Gambia, a small African country on the Northwest coast of the continent.  In power for the last twenty-two years, he refused to give up power after he lost his latest presidential bid.

As ECOWAS, (Economic Community of West African States), a regional armed forces coalition entered Gambia to force his removal, he finally stepped down, fleeing into exile.  But even as he left, he looted tons of valuable assets and millions of dollars from the national treasury!

It’s noteworthy that Gambia was very near the narrow shadow of last September’s Virgo Solar Eclipse.  Beginning in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, the eclipse path came over land just below Gambia.  Within twenty-four hours, there was rioting in the streets as Jammeh refused to concede defeat to his opponent who won a decisive electoral victory on the very day of the eclipse.

This correlative event was just the latest evidence of the powerful influence of Solar eclipses upon the areas of the planet that fall under a Solar eclipse path.

Of course, Lunar eclipses are visible to half the planet as they always occur at night time.  Solar eclipses however occur during the day so their path casts a very narrow shadow about twenty miles wide as the Sun moves through the sky, typically traversing a couple thousand miles during each solar eclipse event.

Solar eclipses (New Moons) and Lunar eclipses (Full Moons) always occur two weeks apart every five and a half months.  The upcoming February 26th Pisces Solar eclipse traverses mid-Africa again.  As a result, we’re likely to see intensified focus, and important activities and events continuing to unfold in central African countries over the coming months.

Since eclipses are a phenomenon associated with the Nodes of the Moon, which always traverse backward through the zodiac, the signs eclipses occur in also move backward through the zodiac.  For the last year and a half, eclipses have occurred in the signs of Virgo and Pisces.  For the next year and a half, eclipses will shift into the signs of Leo and Aquarius.  Likewise, the events we experience personally and collectively will also shift as a result.

Recent eclipses in Virgo and Pisces manifested through a growing awareness of crises that encouraged healing and a return to reality and ultimately, spiritual development.  Upcoming eclipses in Leo and Aquarius will teach us to wake up and to love ourselves enough to remain true to ourselves, even as we realize we are part of larger groups including society as a whole.  The Aquarius influence will no doubt also manifest in growing unrest among the populace.  Expect the forces of revolution to grow over the coming months.

Its also important to know that the Solar/Lunar eclipse cycle repeats every nineteen years, returning to the exact same sign and degree of the zodiac.  This year’s eclipses will echo the same energetic patterns as the eclipse cycle of 1998.  Therefore events somewhat similar to what happened in 1998 are likely to occur again this year.  What was happening in your life in 1998?  Let your knowledge of those past events inform your choices in the coming year as the eclipse cycle recurs.

So eclipse season is upon us once again this month.  The upcoming Leo Full Moon on February 10th is a Lunar eclipse and two weeks later, on February 26th, the Pisces New Moon will be a Solar eclipse.

The Aquarius New Moon is actually sort of ‘setting the stage’ for the upcoming Leo Full Moon Lunar eclipse since evolution ALWAYS proceeds to and through the opposite sign of the zodiac.

To evolve and move forward over the coming year and a half, we will co-create experiences that help us to learn to choose love (Leo) over hate.  These experiences will also teach us to be more authentic and true to ourselves even as we respect the individuality and differences of others and allow them to do the same.  In the process, we’ll be learning to embrace diversity (Aquarius) to a greater extent.  And we will no doubt continue to realize that to continue to conform is to choose to maintain the unhealthy and dysfunctional status quo of the past.

breakingfreeThank heavens then that Aquarius is also the sign that represents ‘de-conditioning.’  To de-condition is to break free of all the conditioning influences in our lives.

Primary sources of conditioning include family, society, man-made religions and the culture we’re born into.  They all try to tell us who to be and how to be what they expect of us.  In short, conditioning influences teach us to ‘follow the rules’ of consensus or ‘mainstream’ reality.

But to conform to these outer expectations, especially for those who have evolved beyond the consensus or mainstream values, beliefs and opinions of their place of birth, often requires a betrayal of self.  If personal truths, beliefs or values must be denied in order to ‘fit in’ or ‘follow the rules’ then at some point a process of questioning the cost of such compliance will begin because life simply won’t work anymore.  Increasingly, such compromised personal realities become unhappy, unsatisfying and unfulfilling.

At some point in the natural evolutionary process, every human being begins to realize that the cost of acquiescing, or ‘going along to get along’ is just too high.  Then personal evolution really starts to accelerate.  At that point, the necessary process of de-conditioning begins in earnest.  At that point, people begin to break free and to liberate from the limitations and constraints of consensus reality and the quality of consciousness that creates and maintains the status quo that nearly ALWAYS resists evolutionary change.

What’s not working in your life?  How might you be continuing to choose to compromise your own truth and personal values and beliefs to ‘fit in?  Are you ready to bust out and break free yet?  If you are, then this Aquarius New Moon is your wake up call.  But how do I do that you may ask?!  The answer lies in Leo, the sign of the heart.  Do you know how to listen to your heart?  Are you even aware that your intuition is your Soul’s direct communication ‘hotline’ that’s always trying to guide you forward on your personal path of evolution?

Keep in mind that many of the world’s cultures today condition us to believe in and follow ‘logic’ and ‘convention.’  Most cultures in the world today renounce intuition and judge ‘following your heart’ as juvenile and foolish.  And yet, science has actually proven that the magnetic field created by our hearts is five thousand times stronger than electrical field created by our brainwave activity.

Evolution requires change.  Revolution enforces necessary change.  Change however always makes us feel insecure since it forces us into new and unfamiliar territory.  Of course we’re always free to choose to resist change – but not forever.  The forces of evolution will always ultimately overcome the forces of resistance.  Such is the very stuff of r-evolution.  Uranus in Aries will provide all the courage needed to change if change is chosen.  Our world desperately needs change.  Choose change!

This Aquarius New Moon is pushing us to open our minds (Aquarius) to change.  It’s also encouraging us to open our hearts (Leo) as well.  These two signs are pointing the way forward in the coming weeks and months as the eclipse pattern unfolds through Leo and Aquarius.  Aquarius will provide all the cosmic wisdom we need.  Perhaps the greatest wisdom we must awaken to is the power of love…

Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love.

We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us.
