Aries New Moon: Viva la Revolution!

The Aries New Moon occurs Thursday, April 7th, at 4:24 am PDT, at 18 degrees Aries 4 minutes.  Here’s the chart:  AriesNewMoon2016.  The Ram appropriately symbolizes Aries, which always acts instinctively upon it’s desires.  Of course, the Ram is also well known for butting heads with other males in the flock as it competes for the right to mate.  Ruled by Mars, the planet of war, Aries is the sign of pure male YANG energy; forceful and strong.

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries always correlates to new beginnings.  So this sign is associated with Spring time (in the Northern hemisphere), the season that reflects a new beginning each year in the natural world when new life bursts forth as plants sprout new shoots and animals give birth.  The glyph for Aries represents new seedlings that have just pushed their way up through the soil, a remarkable instinctive act of natural strength.

As the first cardinal sign, Aries instinctively initiates action.  Aries overcomes it’s considerable fears through finding courage in action itself.  Most important however is the feedback Aries receives once it does act.  This always helps Aries discover something new about itself, the evolutionary purpose of this sign.  Through the instinctive process of continuously forging ahead into new experiences and unknown territory, Aries discovers and ultimately becomes who it is as a unique individual.

Accordingly, Aries needs LOTS of independence and freedom in order to initiate instinctive actions and pursue it’s desires.  When this freedom or independence is restricted, interfered with, or limited in any way, anger is always the natural reaction of Aries.  This explains why this sign is infamous for its anger and quick temper!

This New Moon in Aries carries a volatile instinctive energy pattern full of the impulse for revolutionary change!  This is because the Sun and Moon are conjunct Uranus, the planet associated with rebellion and revolution, which is also in Aries.  The Sun, Moon and Uranus are ALL square Pluto in Capricorn, which is gaining strength and influence as it slows down now ahead of its annual station retrograde on April 18th.  The ongoing square aspect (90 degree angle) between Uranus and Pluto is the most powerful and significant astrological pattern currently in the heavens.

Even though the powerful planetary connection between these two celestial heavyweights began over five years ago, and even though the seven EXACT squares between them have already occurred (June 2012 to March 2015), their connection and influence will continue through 2020.   This New Moon in Aries re-energizes this aspect between Uranus and Pluto in a BIG way!  Ruling revolution and evolution respectively, Uranus and Pluto are fueling major transformational changes worldwide.

Think of all the global changes that have occurred since Pluto first entered Capricorn in 2008 coinciding with the economic downturn that began on Wall Street and quickly spread around the globe.  The Arab Spring began in 2010 in Tunisia initiating widespread political upheaval throughout the Middle East and North Africa.  Then the Occupy Movement, begun in Manhattan in 2011, also spread quickly within months, occurring in cities in over 80 countries and across every continent except Anarctica.  The Occupy Movement brought the phrase “1% vs. the 99%” into our lexicon.

Unrest in many Arab countries continues to this day as the world witnesses the largest human migration since World War II.  Europe is overwhelmed by the millions of refugees fleeing countries in the region devastated by wars between Sunni and Shiite Muslims and their proxies.  And of course, the world is still trying to recover from the 2008 global economic downtown that began here in the United States.  It seems the ‘Occupy Movement’ is currently experiencing a renaissance in the current U.S. Presidential election as issues of income inequality, corporate welfare, Wall Street corruption and rigged economic, political and justice systems have become fundamental cornerstones of campaign platforms – at least on the Democratic side of the contest.

Think too of the extraordinary cultural shifts in our own country evidenced by the nationwide legalization of gay marriage and decriminalization of marijuana in several states.  Lets not forget that America also elected our first African American President in 2008 whose landmark legislative achievement, the Affordable Care Act, has forever transformed the U.S. health care industry.

Extraordinary change has also come to the world of science and religion!  Pope Francis has both inspired followers and upset leaders of the Catholic Church as he focuses his papacy on a return to the compassionate teachings of Jesus, rather than the traditional moralistic and highly judgmental doctrines so ingrained in the history and hierarchy of that centuries old religious institution.  Of course, the Islamic faith is also undergoing its own tremendous revolution as radical extremists continue to hijack and distort the peaceful teachings and traditions of that age old world religion.  As all this is happening, the scientific community discovered the “God Particle” in the Summer of 2012!

On a day to day basis, it can be difficult to grasp the magnitude of change currently unfolding on our planet.  Nevertheless, humanity continues to be in the midst of extraordinary levels of r-evolutionary change and transformation relative to old social, political, cultural, economic, religious and scientific structures and paradigms.

Expect this extraordinary pace of change to accelerate!

Uranus is associated with the archetype of liberation.  Uranus ALWAYS works to free us from whatever limitations are preventing further evolutionary growth on both individual and collective levels.  This is why Uranus is the planet of rebellion and revolution.  Often, in order to break free of the restrictions associated with the status quo, we must rebel against those forces that expect us to unquestioningly conform and comply to old established forms and structures and their rules and regulations.

It’s worth noting that when evolutionary changes are resisted for too long, Uranus acts to suddenly and unexpectedly shatter old realities and paradigms to enforce necessary change so that evolutionary growth can continue.  Resistance to necessary evolutionary change is in fact the primary causative factor for cataclysmic events.  In these cases, Uranus acts like an earthquake, transforming the landscape forever.

Currently moving through Aries, Uranus has been shaking things up in order to wake us up since May 2010 when it first entered Aries.  In fact, the very day that Uranus re-entered Aries (it’s first retrograde returned it to Pisces for eight months from August 2010 to March 2011), the catastrophic 9.0 Tohoku earthquake occurred off the Northeast coast of Japan that triggered the explosions and subsequent meltdown at the Fukishima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on March 11, 2011.  Clearly this was a cataclysmic event.  It actually happened within just two hours of Uranus returning to the sign of Aries!  Revolutionary Uranus will remain in Aries, the sign of new beginnings until 2019.

And speaking of power…

Astrologically, the issue of power is ruled by Pluto and its sign, Scorpio.  Pluto represents the Soul and the evolutionary process itself.  Accordingly, Pluto teaches the right uses of power.  Intrinsically, all human beings are endowed with the power of FREE WILL CHOICE which facilitates the very process of human evolution.  Unfortunately, in our modern reality, most of us have been conditioned to attribute power to mundane and material things, like status and wealth.  Interestingly, Pluto also rules sex and death, two other things we typically associate with power.  Of course these are the things most commonly used to manipulate and control or wield power over others.  These behaviors always reflect gross misuses of power.

With Pluto currently moving through Capricorn (2008 to 2025), and the Sun, Moon and Uranus in Aries now squaring Pluto in Capricorn in this New Moon chart, those in positions of authority who are abusing their power will increasingly be exposed as their lies and corrupt practices are revealed.  Capricorn is the sign associated with established social structures like governments and with those in positions of social authority like CEO’s, bankers, politicians and religious leaders.

A perfect example of the power of the Sun square Pluto (April 6th) to expose corruption just happened this week with the release of over 11 million documents called the ‘Panama Papers.’  This cyber attack/hack is the largest leak in modern history.  It revealed the names of hundreds of individuals including twelve heads of state, government leaders and their wealthy associates, as well as mafia figures and drug and weapons traffickers who have stashed their wealth in tax havens with the aid of a Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca.  Among them are Ukraine’s President, Petro Poroshenko, and Iceland’s Prime Minister, Sigmundor David Gunnlaugsson, who resigned on Tuesday after more than 10,000 citizens in Iceland protested against he and his wife’s tax evasion.

Remember I recently mentioned ‘International Transparent Forensic Accounting’ in a previous blog post? It appears this phenomenon is gaining ground as shocking (Uranus) levels of global corruption involving the rich and powerful are brought to light.  The Panama Papers classically illustrate how Pluto operates.  It first reveals and exposes that which is corrupt, decayed or dysfunctional.  Once revealed, those things will either be healed or come to an end.  Indeed this week has already brought an end to one career (Capricorn) for a leader who was abusing the power and authority of his position of prominence.  There will no doubt be more.

But now let’s also look at power from a more mundane point of view…

The world needs power in the form of energy sources in order to function.  Most of our cars still run on gasoline that fuels their engines, as does much of the machinery of industry.  Countless other common materials and profitable business products like fertilizers, plastics and pesticides that have become ubiquitous in modern life are manufactured from petroleum and its derivatives. 

Fossil fuels have powered global economies for a century and a half.  However, petroleum is a deadly pollutant that is destroying ecosystems all across our planet.  Scientists unanimously agree that we’ve reached a tipping point.  For our evolution to continue, indeed for our very survival, we must now make different choices regarding energy sources.

Why haven’t we made this necessary change yet?  Why are we resisting the very change Mother Nature (who we are all ONE with) is quite dramatically insisting we must make in order to survive?  The answer is that the petroleum industry has vast wealth and holds enormous power over the very politicians whose responsibility it is to make energy policy changes.  Did I mention already that political systems are ‘rigged’ and corrupt?  The increasing frequency of extreme weather events reflect our stubborn resistance to necessary evolutionary changes relative to how we generate energy and utilize ‘power’ sources.  Unless and until we collectively make a different free will choice, we’ll no doubt continue to experience cataclysmic weather events and increasing outbreaks of infectious diseases resulting from environmental degradation and climate change.

So we find ourselves at a choice point relative to how we power our lifestyles.  The crisis of climate change and its extreme weather events and rising sea levels are alerting us to the need to evolve away from our old destructive fossil fuel energy paradigm.  We must move quickly, globally, towards renewable energy sources that are clean, healthy and sustainable.  It’s time to r-evolutionize (Uranus and Pluto) our  relationship with energy and power!

Transforming our energy policies (Pluto) is not the only necessary evolutionary change we’re facing.  We obviously also need to change our politics.  Uranus rules politics because it’s  associated with how societies form groups within themselves.  The most common social grouping we all experience is our friends.  On a larger scale however, social groups are reflected through political parties.  Anyone notice the increasing chaos upending established political parties and systems the world over?  The current Presidential election process underway in the United States has completely shattered longstanding political ‘conventional wisdom’ as pundits, journalists and strategists find themselves utterly baffled at both Donald Trump’s and Bernie Sander’s success.  The ‘political revolution’ Bernie Sanders is calling for is indeed  happening!

So this New Moon powerfully re-ignites the ongoing r-evolutionary Uranus/Pluto connection.  But that’s not all it’s doing.  In addition, the Sun and Moon — and Uranus too are all inconjunct (150 degree angle) both the North Node and retrograde Jupiter in Virgo.  So what do these planetary connections mean?

Virgo is the sign of crises!  The New Moon’s connection to Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo reflects the need to make necessary changes and adjustments in order to effectively resolve and heal these crises.  Many things ruled by Virgo are currently capturing headlines.  For example, Virgo represents workers and workplaces so it’s not at all surprising that efforts to raise the minimum wage in the United States are finally gaining traction.  Just this week Governor Brown of California and Governor Cuomo of New York signed legislation raising their state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour.  Other cities like Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco have already enacted similar wage increase laws.

Virgo is also associated with health and healthcare systems.  Even as ‘Obama-care’ has dramatically reduced the number of uninsured Americans, varying statistics estimate over 30 million still have no health insurance.  So it’s also not surprising that a single payer healthcare system is once again front and center in the political discourse as a cornerstone of one of the Presidential candidate’s campaigns, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Virgo also rules the environment and it’s health.  As Jupiter moves through this sign (August 2015 to September 2016) it’s reflecting the enormous scale of environmental degradation.  So once again, it should not be surprising that we’ve also been experiencing an expansion of infectious disease outbreaks like Ebola and the Zika virus.  Also dramatically increasing are drug-resistant strains of bacterial organisms and viruses like tuberculosis and MRSA.  This phenomenon will increasingly threaten the health of people and animals all over the planet.

So thank heavens Jupiter also rules man-made laws and legislative processes.  Jupiter’s transit through Virgo has coincided with a growing number of successful legal actions against big environmental polluters.  Lawsuits prohibiting the manufacture of toxic pesticides responsible for decimating crucial pollinator species like bees, butterflies and bats have recently prevailed against corporate behemoths like Bayer and Monsanto.  Last month legislation banning GMO labeling laws set to go into effect soon in Vermont failed in Congress.  Additionally, several states Attorneys General have joined with New York’s Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman, who has brought suit against Exxon Mobil and others in the petroleum industry for fraud based upon decades of deceptive information provided to their shareholders about the impact of climate change due to fossil fuels.

It’s also likely that legal efforts against fracking, oil pipeline construction, offshore oil exploration and drilling will continue to grow and succeed all across this country.  Jeffrey Wolf Green, the founder of Evolutionary Astrology said over twenty years ago, “Environmentalism will become the new religion.”  As Jupiter in Virgo connects with the Sun and Moon in Aries now, we’ll continue to see changes and adjustments evidenced by environmental activism and legislation.  Not only will these efforts grow in strength and numbers but also in their success against corporate, financial and political interests that have a legacy of destroying our planet for profits.

The bottom line is that through the current influence of Virgo, healthier choices are gaining ground worldwide, among individuals, communities and nations!  What new choices are you making in support of your own personal health and well-being?  What changes are you pursuing to improve your work life or benefit your career path?

And finally, the Aries New Moon is also trine (120 degree angle) Saturn in Sagittarius.  This is a most auspicious planetary pairing!  In addition to Jupiter’s benevolent influence for legal actions against wrongdoing, the Sun’s very favorable connection to Saturn in Sagittarius (the sign ruled by Jupiter) is also bringing rewards and success to those whose prior efforts have worked for the common good or in pursuit of truth and justice.  Saturn’s association with responsibility, accountability and maturity, will be reflected in significant progress and achievement for those who have and continue to act ethically, with honesty and integrity (Sagittarius) for the benefit of all.

The influence of Sun in Aries trine Saturn in Sagittarius is reflected in recently enacted new rules regulating Advisors in the financial industry.  They must now put their client’s best interests ahead of their own profit goals.  Reports show that Financial Advisors have pocketed an average of $18 billion a year from the pension funds of those they advise.  This protection for worker’s hard-earned retirement savings is long overdue.  Another timely example of ethical responsibility is the decision by Paypal’s CEO, Dan Shulman, to cancel the company’s plan to expand their massive global operations center in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the state’s legislature passed a law repealing the city’s recent ban against discrimination for those in the LGBT community.

Sagittarius rules the search for truth so it represents the world’s religions and faith traditions.  Another historic example of maturity and integrity focused on the well-being of many has been evidenced time and again by Pope Francis as he has met with religious leaders from many faith traditions.  In the Spring of 2014 he met with Muslim, Jewish and Orthodox leaders in Jerusalem saying, “a visit to the Holy Land would not be complete without a meeting with the Muslim communities.”

Saturn is the planet of discipline and self-determination necessary to obtain our goals particularly those requiring serious, long-term effort and commitment.  What important goals are you working towards?  How are you evolving into a greater experience of maturity, personal responsibility and accountability?

Indeed MANY GOOD THINGS are happening throughout the world!  We just don’t hear much about them from corporate-owned mainstream media sources whose agenda depends upon fear and distortions of truth.  But then we all have the responsibility of making choices, daily, between fear and hope, despair and inspiration, truth or lies.

Long-term readers of my monthly New Moon posts, as well as those who listen to Heavenly Help, my free weekly podcast know that I’ve been saying for years (since about 2010!) that we are living in extraordinary times.  Ancient cultures the world over foresaw this time in human history as a time of tremendous evolutionary growth and change.  Their prophecies predicted both a time of great leaps forward in human consciousness and a time of cataclymic changes on planet Earth.

Consider the fact that every Soul alive on the planet today, including you, CHOSE to be here now.  This means at a Soul level, each and every one of us intended to be part of these r-evolutionary changes.  Indeed I believe the discovery of the Higgs Boson, or ‘God Particle’ reflects this revelatory leap forward in human consciousness foretold by the ancients long ago.  Since physicists discovered that consciousness creates reality, human beings now KNOW that we are responsible for the realities we are experiencing because we are the ones co-creating those realities through the power of our free will choices, individually and collectively.

Pisces New Moon Solar Eclipse: Imagine a World…

The Pisces New Moon is a Total Solar Eclipse!  It occurs on Tuesday, March 8th at 6:54 pm MST at 18 degrees Pisces 55 minutes.  Here’s the chart:  PiscesNewMoonSolarEclipse2016.

The two fish that symbolize Pisces represent the processes of both involution or manifestation – Spirit descending into matter, and evolution or transcendence of the physical world of matter – ascending back into Spirit.  Portrayed accurately, the two fish are always connected in some fashion.  This connection reflects the universal truth that SPIRIT AND MATTER ARE ONE.  Similarly, the symbol for Pisces, two opposite vertical curved lines with a horizontal line crossing them, also symbolizes this everlasting connection.  In truth, there is no separation between Spirit and matter. 

Solar Eclipses are super powerful New Moons that ‘seed’ tremendous transformative energies.  Eclipse energies accelerate evolutionary progression on planet Earth.  These energies are always associated with the sign in which the New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs.

Happening in Pisces, these ‘seeds’ will be reflected in issues ranging from the least evolved expression of Pisces like fraud, theft, disease, deceptions and delusions, to the highest expression of the sign through things like charity, humanitarianism, compassion and forgiveness which are associated with a philosophy of the universal sacredness and connectedness of all things.  Evolved Pisces energy is ultimately expressed through spiritual development, awakening of consciousness and the transcendence of limited Earthly realities.  Of course, as always, how this powerful Pisces energy actually manifests will depend upon how we choose to use it – both individually and collectively.  Will we use it to deceive ourselves and others, obfuscating the truth, or will we use it to reach to a higher level and lift each other up?

This Total Solar Eclipse will be visible from Southeast Asia eastward through the South Pacific Ocean to just North of the Hawaiian Islands.  Those who live in the shadow path of a Solar Eclipse typically experience its energy and influence much more so than those who live elsewhere.  This Solar Eclipse energizes a path from Singapore through Indonesia and into the South Pacific.  Therefore, we can expect headlines in the coming months highlighting significant events occurring in these parts of the world.

Pisces is naturally wholistic in nature because it reflects the totality of both the manifest and unmanifested creation.  Accordingly, Pisces reflects the entire zodiac as it contains all the twelve signs within it.  As the final sign of the zodiac it’s also naturally associated with culmination.  Pisces always brings things to their natural end.  As the last sign of the natural year (correlating with the natural world or nature) Pisces coincides with March, the month that occurs just before the Sun enters Aries signaling the annual Spring Equinox and the beginning of a new year in the natural world.  It’s fitting therefore that Pisces naturally calls for a withdrawal from worldly affairs in order to reflect upon and deeply contemplate the previous year’s experiences to distill the lessons learned and the wisdom gained.

As the final sign of the natural zodiac, Pisces is also associated with the human process of spiritualization.  In Pisces, the Soul’s desire to return to and reunite with the Divine Source that created it completes its evolutionary journey.  To facilitate this ultimate Soul desire, Pisces dissolves any and all barriers preventing reunification with ALL THAT IS or the Divine Source, God, Goddess, Great Spirit or whatever it is that you perceive to be your Creator.

As these barriers dissolve, we often experience a time of confusion and loss of meaning relative to all that we previously held dear and thought would bring us fulfillment.  This dissolution process ALWAYS ultimately requires surrender.   Some people interpret surrender as a loss of control or see it as a weakness and mightily resist relinquishing their personal will to their Divine Will.  Nevertheless, surrender is indeed what’s required in order to learn the spiritual lessons associated with trusting something greater than our selves – a Higher Power.  This truth is poignantly evident in the age old saying, “Let go and let God.”  Ultimately, when the dissolution process is complete, we’re delivered to some new reality, miraculously transformed having transcended an old limited or unhealthy reality.

Pisces is perhaps one of the most difficult signs to comprehend specifically because it works through a process of dissolution.  It naturally dissolves whatever is preventing, interfering with or distracting us from a direct experience of re-merging with the Sacred or Divine Creative Source.  It may be useful to realize that Pisces also rules water.  Over time, water can dissolve any substance.  Over time, water wears away even the toughest granite, carving canyons and cliff walls into rock solid ground.  Pisces can and does dissolve any and all structures, forms, boundaries or realities.  No wonder we call water the ‘Universal Solvent!’

This New Moon/Solar Eclipse (Sun and Moon) in Pisces is joined by Mercury (logic, information, communication), Neptune (dissolution that facilitates spiritual evolution), Ceres (losses and returns), Chiron (wounds and healing) and the Moon’s South Node (emotional body, self-image, the past).  That’s a LOT of Pisces energy available to dissolve and transcend old realities that have reached their limits, are no longer serving us and are naturally culminating.  With Ceres’ association with loss, Chiron’s association with wounds, and the South Node symbolizing things of the past that must be let go of in order to continue growing and evolving, there’s a powerful emphasis on releasing, finishing up, letting go, death, endings and completions in this New Moon pattern.  Often, many Souls leave the planet during eclipses.  Those who remain are likely to experience disappointment, confusion or a deep sense of loss as the old dissolves and gives way to the new.

What’s lost meaning in your personal life?  What’s dissolving, dissipating or disintegrating?  Are you surrendering to this process or fighting it?  What’s ending in your life now?  What do you need to let go of so you can heal and continue to grow and evolve in new ways and in new directions?

Neptune rules Pisces and is therefore the planetary ruler of this New Moon and Solar Eclipse.  Neptune continues to comprise the foundation of a powerful ongoing Spiritual T-Square along with Saturn and Jupiter.  This T-Square is reflecting and compelling a profound review of beliefs and belief systems, like faith traditions and political and religious ideologies.  It’s urging us to reach for and to embrace higher levels of truth and understanding.

What’s happening in your own life now that’s causing you to ponder or question long-held personal beliefs or what you’ve always thought was true?  Keep in mind we also have MANY personal beliefs in addition to traditional religious beliefs.  For example, many believe they’re not good enough or intelligent enough or that the bad things that have happened to them are punishment for their ‘sins.’  Perhaps you believe you’re unattractive or not worthy of love or that the world isn’t safe so you’re justified in always being afraid.  Remember that consciousness creates reality and you can easily see the extraordinary evolutionary purpose and intention of the current Spiritual T-Square as well as the tremendous dissolutioning process now underway through so much Pisces emphasis.

This review of beliefs is being facilitated through the increasing urgency of crises, personally and globally.  From an evolutionary point of view, crises have a natural purpose.  Crises alert us to that which is NOT in alignment with or rooted in REALITY.  Crises further alert us to the need for serious changes and adjustments in order to resolve them.  Using wide orbs (range of energetic influence), ALL the planets currently in Pisces are square Saturn in Sagittarius and opposite retrograde Jupiter and the North Node both in Virgo, greatly expanding the influence of this Spiritual T-Square over the coming weeks and months.

Consequently, expect ongoing crises to intensify in magnitude and frequency and new crises to emerge because these crises are reflecting our stubborn resistance to making necessary changes and adjustments.  Social, political and economic dysfunction continue to manifest through increasing disease outbreaks, contaminated water supplies, opioid addiction, greater frequency of extreme weather events and global scandals revealing rampant and widespread fraud and corruption.  Fortunately, current celestial patterns are not only very auspicious for change, they seem to be demanding change!  It’s a very opportune time to heal ourselves, our relationships with one another and our planet – IF WE CHOOSE TO DO SO.

All the Pisces planets are also within orb of a sextile aspect (60 degree angle) with Pluto in Capricorn.  Pluto is a powerhouse providing plenty of energy and will to make the proper and necessary choices especially when it comes to knowing what needs to be relinquished in order to heal old wounds, resolve long-standing conflicts and make space for a better future.  Pluto also brings that which is hidden to light, especially if secrecy is being used to conceal misuses of power.  Dishonesty and abuses of power will increasingly be revealed especially at the highest levels of government and social institutions.  This energy clearly supports ‘speaking truth to power!’

Have you heard of International Transparent Forensic Accounting (ITFA)?  I just recently became aware of it and find it interesting that numbers and math and therefore accounting are all ruled by Capricorn — the sign Pluto is currently transiting (2008 to 2024).   If ITFA catches on it may begin to expose global illegal financial accounting practices.  For example, the Pentagon’s trillion dollar budget anomalies may well be a result of secret channels for black ops the world over that fund terrorism, special covert military campaigns, drug trafficking, international mafias and global cyber attack networks.  Pluto’s primary job is to reveal what’s hidden or secret.  Of course only time will tell.  AND, the planets currently seem to be saying, “It’s time!”

Indeed Pluto is THE planet associated with the evolutionary process itself which is always facilitated through FREE WILL CHOICES.  All human beings are intrinsically powerful because we all have the capacity to make choices.  Capricorn teaches self-responsibility.  This sign also rules the structural nature of human consciousness.  As we take more responsibility for the choices we make, we develop greater and greater levels of mastery relative to an evolving quality of consciousness.  As our consciousness evolves we increasing make choices with deliberate and conscious intention, thus co-creating desired realities and outcomes, instead of unconsciously choosing, which unwittingly continues to manifest the same old undesired and troublesome experiences over and over and over again.

Everything touched by this New Moon will experience culmination in some way, particularly those things associated with the signs of Virgo (work, health and the environment), Sagittarius (truth, beliefs, laws and justice, travel and education) and Pisces (water, drugs, chemicals and poisons).  For example, the recent unexpected passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has effectively culminated an old era of jurisprudence known as ‘originalism.’

Many old wounds (Chiron) can be healed now, particularly those of a spiritual or psychological nature (Pisces).  The present moment in time, symbolized by current planetary patterns, is utterly ripe for releasing (Ceres) the past (Pisces South Node) particularly elements of consciousness that identify with victimization (Neptune and Pisces).

Victim consciousness is ALWAYS responsible for creating and maintaining wounds.  In order for effective culmination and subsequent healing to occur, the truth must be faced squarely.  No more idealizing, fantasizing, self-deception or denial.  Delusional thinking cannot and will not be effective.  In fact, faulty interpretations of reality based upon distortions of truth will only serve to re-imprint and deepen the wounds.

Take a moment now and reflect upon all the things happening across our planet and in your own life that are associated with things in the above list.  Consider how some of them are expressing Pisces energies negatively, i.e.,  Flint Michigan’s lead poisoning of its water supply and the uncontrolled methane gas leak in Porter Ranch California.  Consider also how some are expressing Pisces energy positively like body cameras for law enforcement officers and breakthroughs in cancer treatment through innovative immune system therapies and reduced prison sentences for non-violent drug offenses.  Clearly, Pisces energy is manifesting everywhere!  How are you choosing to use all this Pisces energy?

Of course, these issues are not the ONLY issues in the news these days.  But then, Neptune isn’t the only planet active right now in the heavens.   We’re still feeling and experiencing the very powerful influence of the ongoing square aspect (90 degrees) between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn.  The r-evolutionary social, economic and political changes symbolized by these two transformative planets have been underway for the past five years and will continue for the next five years!  These changes began with the global economic collapse of 2008 and doubled down with the ‘Arab Spring.’  The effects of Uranus/Pluto have manifested in a myriad of ways including legalization of marriage equality, extraordinary advances in science and technology, an explosion of social media participation and increasing social unrest that continues to drive radical changes in establishment politics worldwide.

And speaking of radical political changes, Uranus in Aries is exactly inconjunct retrograde Jupiter in Virgo now.  The inconjunct aspect is a 150 degree angle associated with crises!  Jupiter rules honesty and dishonesty and always greatly expands whatever it touches.  Uranus rules politics, politicians and political parties.  HUGE (pun intended) changes and adjustments are happening right now in the American political system as our Presidential campaign kicks into high gear here in the United States.  Establishment elites in both parties are anxiously wringing their hands as old political paradigms have broken down and ‘conventional wisdom’ (an oxymoronic phrase if ever there was one) relative to political campaigning has proven to be utterly ineffective.

I’m totally fascinated with how the ONE presidential contender who seems to be speaking the most truth, Senator Bernie Sanders, is the one most ignored by the media!  Reference once again the above graphic regarding societies that drift from the truth hating those who speak it!

Remember, Jupiter and the Moon’s North Node in Virgo are pointing the way forward toward evolutionary growth.  Interestingly, Sanders 15 degrees Virgo Sun and 22 degrees Virgo North Node are currently being transited by retrograde Jupiter at 18 degrees Virgo and the North Node at 21 degrees Virgo.  AND, his Neptune is at 26 degrees Virgo!   Coincidence?  Of course!  Here’s the chart:  BernieSandersNatalandTransits030816

In the sign of Virgo, Jupiter is telling the truth, especially regarding matters pertaining to workers, jobs and the health and well-being of both people and the planet.  Rejecting free trade agreements that kill jobs, expanding healthcare for all, transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels towards sustainable and renewable energy sources and opening our hearts and homes to assist desperate refugees fleeing war and starvation seems to me the right way to go.  Considering that retrograde Jupiter is now opposite every single one of those Pisces planets, thinking universally (Pisces), with a philosophy or mindset that believes ‘we’re all connected’ and ‘we’re all in this together,’ is definitely the right way to go.

Retrograde planets always accelerate our evolution.  This occurs through experiences associated with the opposite sign.  Retrograde Jupiter in Virgo points directly at Pisces and all of its universal one-ness and humanitarian compassion.  Jupiter rules the right-brain which is the source of intuition.  To evolve now, we must also learn to embrace and trust our intuitive faculties once again.  In a world long conditioned to rely exclusively upon left-brained logical thinking and fact-based, empirical evidence, the denial of our intrinsic right-brained intuition is a denial of 50% of our brain capacity.  This has resulted in extremes of imbalance in nearly every aspect of our lives from the weather, to income inequality to religious ‘extremism’ to overwhelming refugee migrations.  As changes occur in the outer world, we must make necessary inner changes and adjustments to them.  Our intuition will point us in the right direction so we must listen, Listen, LISTEN to those inner voices providing intuitive guidance!

Berta Caceres stands at the Gualcarque River in the Rio Blanco region of western Honduras where she, and the people of Rio Blanco have maintained a two year struggle to halt construction on the Agua Zarca Hydroelectric project, that poses grave threats to local environment, river and indigenous Lenca people from the region.

Virgo is the sign most associated with the environment.  Restoring and healing the environment should be a top priority for all humanity now.  Sadly, the world lost a passionate and courageous truth-teller this week.  I wish to honor Berta Cecares, a long-time political activist and General Coordinator of the National Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras who was assassinated on March 2nd in her home.  She gave her life to protect Mother Earth.

Twelve environmental defenders were killed in Honduras in 2014, according to research by Global Witness, making Honduras one of the most dangerous countries in the world, relative to its size, for activists protecting forests and rivers.

If we are to be successful in resolving our many crises, we must also once again embrace NATURAL LAWS.  These are the laws that underpin the natural world and are self-evident in nature.  Indigenous peoples have been the holders of ancient natural wisdom for centuries even as they have experienced egregious acts of persecution including genocide.  It’s time to respect their knowledge, honor their wisdom, accept their leadership and listen to their concerns and advice about how to return to a way of living that is in harmony with the natural world, not at war with it.

Finally and perhaps most fortunately, Pisces also rules the totality of consciousness which is why it’s associated with images, imagery and imagination.  Consider the fact that before anything manifests into actual physical reality, it first exists as a thought in our minds.  When we desire something, we begin to think about it, imagining what it would be like to have it or experience it.  What I’ve just described is the process by which consciousness creates reality.  It always begins with the power of the mind to imagine.  It’s time to harness this power much more consciously, intentionally and deliberately.  Some call this ‘intentional manifestation.’  Others refer to it simply as ‘conscious co-creation.’  Whatever you wish to call it, it’s POWERFUL!  The abundant Pisces energy available to us all now is the perfect stuff to dream a new world into being.

So…

I encourage you, if you are called to do so, to invite like-minded friends to gather together to intentionally co-create desired changes you wish to manifest in the world.  Use the extraordinary power of your mind, through your own free will choices, to consciously co-create what you want in your world and in our world.  Just IMAGINE what you want, in as much detail as possible.  What would it look like, smell like, sound like and feel like?  Hold the precise image of it in your mind.  Imagine it as if it already exists and feel gratitude for its existence.  Add in feelings and emotion and the power of manifestation is significantly magnified.  Endowed with the power of consciousness and free will choice, we simply do not have to settle for old realities that are dysfunctional, unhealthy and unsatisfying!

We CAN come together to envision a peaceful world.  Imagine a healed planet where hatred, poverty, war and strife are things of the past.  Imagine a world filled with peace, love, joy, forgiveness and compassion.  IMAGINE…

Aquarius New Moon: Awakening Consciousness

The Aquarius New Moon occurs on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 7:39 am at 19 degrees Aquarius 15 minutes.  Here’s the chart:  AquariusNewMoon2016.

Aquarius is perhaps the most misunderstood sign of the zodiac.  Many people believe Aquarius is a water sign.  This is probably because Aquarius has long been known as the ‘Water Bearer’ who is always shown pouring water from an urn.  Aquarius is actually an air sign and that water is symbolic of cosmic knowledge the heavens offer for all mankind.

Air is the element associated with all forms of information and intelligence.  As the third and final air sign of the zodiac Aquarius represents the highest forms of thought and knowledge – cosmic wisdom.

Aquarius’ glyph, two wavy lines atop one another, represents frequency waves, not water waves.  Accordingly, Aquarius rules all things associated with intelligent information that travels invisibly through the air, transmitted and received by things like computers, radios and crystals.  Accordingly, Aquarius also rules energy, electricity, airplanes and satellites, the internet, electronic devices, Reiki and lightning.  This sign is also associated with science and technology so it rules invention and discovery.

Throughout the ages, mystics, sages and holy people have taught us the importance of being mindful of our thoughts.  As science and spirituality re-unite, we’re once again able to understand these ancient wisdom teachings previously thought of as mythologies.  Now we realize that scientific truths are embedded in many spiritual texts.  We now know that consciousness literally creates all reality, and that this process of co-creation is facilitated through FREE WILL CHOICES.

Uranus rules Aquarius, the sign of this New Moon, and it continues to be quite powerfully connected to several other planets.  First and foremost, Uranus is still within orb of a square aspect with Pluto.  While the seven exact square aspects (90 degree angular relationship) between Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn occurred between June 2012 and March 2015, the influence of these two celestial heavyweights is actually more powerful now having moved beyond their crescent phasal relationship into a first quarter square phase with one another.  This reflects a shift from YIN to YANG energy forces.  Overall, their current connection will take an entire decade to unfold (2008 and 2018) promising ongoing r-evolutionary change throughout the world for years to come.

Consider that Uranus and Aquarius rule energy and scientific breakthroughs, Pluto is associated with the evolutionary process itself, Capricorn rules the structural nature of human consciousness and the sign of Aries always symbolizes new beginnings, and you can easily grasp what the highest possible manifestation of Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn could be:  a revolutionary breakthrough in human consciousness that transforms our earthly reality!  But we must consciously choose it!

Currently moving through Aries, Uranus is also inconjunct Mars in Scorpio.  Uranus and Mars symbolize the need for radical political and economic reforms demanded by outer social forces.  Unless and until these changes occur, we can expect increasing social unrest particularly among the world’s youth and disenfranchised.  We’ll also likely continue to experience political upheaval and financial volatility – all powerful catalysts for change!

Another important breakthrough in awareness we can manifest at this extraordinary time in human history is the realization that human consciousness is not only a receiver of intelligent information, but also a transmitter of information.  Understanding this truth is a compelling impetus to become more responsible for the quality of our consciousness personally and collectively.  It encourages us to become much more mindful of our thoughts and what we’re co-creating with those thoughts.  Shifting from the false belief that we are victims of our reality to the truth that we are actually co-creators of our reality, and therefore in charge of our own destiny, would utterly transform our human experience.  THOUGHTS MATTER BECAUSE THOUGHTS LITERALLY MANIFEST INTO MATTER!

Yet another breakthrough in our awareness would be an increased understanding of the power of collective consciousness.  When many people focus their consciousness on a singular thought, idea, feeling or desire, the power of that thought stream is exponentially increased.  Science has also verified this truth through many experiments that prove the efficacy of group meditation to alter existing realities including decreasing levels of crime, changing the weather, and manifesting physical healings.  Similarly, scientific studies have also shown significant, measurable spikes in our collective consciousness field when global tragedies occur.

For some months now we’ve also been experiencing a powerful celestial pattern called a ‘T-Square.’  This is a planetary configuration comprised of at least two planets that are opposite one another (180 degrees apart) while both are simultaneously square (90 degrees apart) a third planet.   The opposite planets are Jupiter in Virgo and Neptune and Chiron in Pisces.   Jupiter is also joined by the North Node in Virgo and Neptune and Chiron in Pisces are joined by the South Node in Pisces.  ALL are simultaneously square Saturn which is now moving through Sagittarius.  Since Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) and Pisces (ruled by Neptune) rule conscious and unconscious beliefs respectively, and Sagittarius rules the search for truth, Astrologers are calling this a ‘Spiritual T-Square.’

Altogether, this T-Square is reflecting the urgent and timely need to review and reflect upon WHAT we believe and WHY we believe what we believe to determine if its really true.  To resolve the many crises (Virgo) we face, we must realign with reality (Virgo), throw off false beliefs that are co-creating false and distorted realities, and make the personal effort to heal and improve situations that are simply no longer working or serving our needs.  One of the most damaging false beliefs humanity must let go of is the belief that we’re powerless to change our reality — that we are essentially victims of fate.  Indeed, nothing is further from the truth!

Both Venus and Pluto in Capricorn will favorably trine (120 degree angle) Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo and sextile (60 degree angle) Chiron and the South Node in Pisces reflecting the courage and discipline to heal old identities rooted in victimization and powerlessness.  Watch February 9th and 10th as well as March 16th for opportunities to take greater personal responsibility and to make important choices relative to self-improvements effecting personal health and well-being particularly regarding everyday work issues, personal finances, matters pertaining to truth, honesty and integrity and choosing to honor what is truly most meaningful and important in your life.   Rewards will come easily to those who ‘do the work.’

Aquarius facilitates evolutionary breakthroughs that liberate us through its natural ability to detach emotionally.  This sign is often accused of being distant, cool and aloof especially in emotional situations.  But this is not the case!  Aquarius feels emotions just like everyone else.  What’s different about Aquarius is its intrinsic capacity to be objective.  Aquarius teaches OBJECTIVITY!  Once we’re able to detach, step back, and observe what’s really happened or is happening, we can easily see and therefore change the old ways of being that were co-creating those situations.

One of the most important breakthroughs associated with Aquarius, is the ability to liberate from the pressure to conform to other’s expectations especially those of family and society.  Aquarians ALWAYS feel different – because they are!  They are not meant to ‘fit in.’  They’re meant to stand out!  This is the sign of unconventional, non-conformists, radicals and revolutionaries!  If conforming to consensus reality, mainstream values and the status quo requires self-betrayal or denial of your true self, Aquarius will teach you to become a ‘group of one!’

It may come as no surprise then that Aquarius is also the sign of trauma which is so often experienced by those who refuse to conform.   Standing apart from the crowd is difficult.  It requires courage.  But know this:  When the forces of liberation and evolution are resisted by individuals for too long their Soul will co-create cataclysmic events in order to enforce the necessary evolutionary changes.  When necessary change is resisted for too long by groups of people on a collective level, rebellion results that ultimately brings social revolutions!

The Sun and Moon in Aquarius are square Mars in Scorpio in the New Moon chart signaling clashes between intense forces – to both resist and embrace necessary changes – particularly relative to matters of wealth  and power (Pluto and Scorpio) and politics (Uranus and Aquarius).  Old financial and political realities and paradigms that are no longer working to serve the needs of the whole of humanity are disintegrating.  It’s time to reclaim our collective power and make different choices.  Resistance to these necessary changes by the forces of the status quo is strong.  Dramatic evidence of this is inherent in the endless power struggles, between people and their governments, between political factions, between nations and between different cultures and races.  Fortunately, evolutionary forces ALWAYS win out over forces of resistance.  One way or another, change WILL occur.  It’s only a matter of time…

The Sun and Moon are also inconjunct (150 degrees – a crisis angle) Jupiter and the North Node in Virgo in the New Moon chart.  This planetary connection reflects the increasing urgency to address the crises of climate change, disease outbreaks, environmental degradation and overwhelming refugee migrations due to war and poverty.  Often Virgo reflects consciousness rooted in victimization that undermines it’s ability to objectively analyze reality.  We’ve now reached a point where extraordinary effort will be required to heal the physical, psychological and spiritual wounds so many of us carry.  But we must do so if we are to transform our individual and collective consciousness that continuously co-creates realities that manifest death, violence, inequality, injustice and corruption.

This Aquarius New Moon is also sextile Uranus, its ruler, in Aries, the sign of new beginnings.  This aspect reflects a choice point relative to manifesting a new direction.  We simply need to find the courage to take the first steps knowing that as we move into unfamiliar territory, we’ll need to take a step back periodically to review our choices and adjust course if need be.  Aries always moves forward instinctively so it stands to reason that it naturally unfolds through a process of two steps forward, one step back.  So don’t worry if you make a choice and then realize it wasn’t quite right.  Simply make another choice and proceed.  Likewise, realize that not all new starts are meant to be completed.  Just keep choosing anew until you’ve found the right course where doors open and solutions are found.  Just keep moving forward ONE STEP AT A TIME!

Fortunately, this  New Moon in Aquarius promises scientific breakthroughs and discoveries that can bring innovative solutions to some of our most urgent problems.  It’s power of objectivity can help us to break free of many old realities and old paradigms.  This energy can help us to liberate ourselves from false beliefs and distortions of truth that have dis-empowered us and literally kept us in the dark for millennia.

Aquarius is the sign of awakening.  It’s energy is like turning on a light in a dark room!  It brings the AHA moments of our lives.  It’s time to wake up and to realize just how powerful we truly are.  It’s time to change our thoughts from anger, fear and hatred, to love and peace and kindness.  If we truly wish to change our reality, we must change our thoughts which will in turn change the quality of our consciousness which is the source that co-creates our realities.

The Age of Aquarius is upon us.  As above, so below.  The planets don’t make things happen but they do indeed reflect our reality.  The powerful heavenly patterns in place now, including this Aquarius New Moon, are reflecting a quantum shift in human consciousness.  And not a moment too soon!

Libra New Moon: A New Balance of Power

The Libra New Moon occurs October 12th at 5:06 pm MST/PDT.  It happens at 19 degrees Libra 20 minutes.  Here’s the chart:  LibraNewMoon2015.

The Scales, Libra’s glyph, is misleading.  The Scales have long symbolized balance.  However, it’s important to note that Libra is learning balance.  Until mastery of this archetype is achieved, Libra experiences imbalance, often to extremes, particularly in relationship dynamics.  The number one contributing factor to unhealthy and unsuccessful relationships is an imbalance of power.  Who has it?  Who doesn’t?  Is it acknowledged and wielded equally?  Is it used to support one another in independent individual development or is it used in ways that contribute to and maintain co-dependence?

To promote relationship balance and equality, Libra must learn to LISTEN!  Since Libra also NEEDS TO BE NEEDED, it often derives its identity, value and worth through others.  In turn, this leads to Libra’s habitual giving to others so that it will be valued for providing what they think others need.  This cannot help but foster co-dependency.  Effective listening allows Libra to give and receive (use power) properly, giving what’s actually needed, not what they think the other needs, which all too often simply reflects their own personal projected needs, thus sustaining co-dependence.

Recent Venus and Mercury retrogrades encouraged a major review of relationship dynamics particularly issues of equality/inequality and balance/imbalance of power.  We can break free of unhealthy relationship patterns and behaviors now.  However, if necessary changes are resisted for too long, some unequal situations, especially in partnerships, could end quite abruptly as this New Moon’s central astrological aspect, an opposition between the Sun in Libra and retrograde Uranus in Aries, highlights.  This revolutionary aspect always demands greater individual freedom.

House of Representatives Republican caucus for evidence of the surprising and rebellious nature of the energy of the Sun opposite Uranus.  Current Speaker of the House John Boehner unexpectedly announced his resignation last week shocking even his closest political insiders.  His second in command, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, announced he would run to fill the position and was broadly considered a ‘shoe-in.’  However, in a totally surprising turn of events, the so-called “Freedom Caucus,” lamenting their perceived lack of power as rank and file Republicans, refused to support McCarthy throwing the normally routine process of selection of a new Speaker of the House into utter chaos as they rebelled against what they saw as an automatic ‘coronation’ of the next in line.  In a second and perhaps even more surprising political ‘bombshell’ McCarthy suddenly announced he was dropping out of the race.

‘Sudden.’  ‘Surprising.’  ‘Unexpected.’  ‘Shocking.’  ‘Chaos.’  ‘Rebellion.’  These are all uniquely Uranian words and phenomena.   Because the ‘status quo’ in so many different aspects of our world’s reality ARE NOT BALANCED AND ARE NOT FUNCTIONING IN HEALTHY PRODUCTIVE WAYS, we can expect even more bombshells – politically, economically, socially and culturally, in the coming days, weeks and months!

Explosion at Peace Rally at Ankara, Turkey

A dark and dangerous manifestation of this volatile and revolutionary celestial pattern between the Sun and Uranus, was the twin explosions that rocked a Peace Rally in Ankara, Turkey on Saturday.  Ironically, the Sun and Moon in Libra represent peace; Uranus retrograde in Aries represents chaos.  Uranian energy often ‘blows up’ the status quo, ripping the rug out from underneath us when necessary evolutionary changes have been resisted for far too long.

Evolutionary forces of change can be constructive or destructive.  Unfortunately, when the cry for necessary changes are consistently ignored over time, those who are ignored feel disenfranchised and then often feel it necessary to resort to violence to achieve their goals.  It’s heartbreaking and sad that a Peace rally was so shockingly disrupted by EXTREMISTS (remember Libra rules extremes) who misused power in the most horrific way causing the deaths of nearly a hundred people and injuring hundreds more.

But let’s be realistic.  Extreme inequality relative to the balance of wealth and power is indeed a daily reality for billions of people the world over.  The energy of this New Moon will increasingly and dramatically bring these imbalances to the fore and into our collective consciousness.  The energy of this New Moon is revolutionary and will indeed manifest as change.  The $64k question is, “What kind of change – constructive or destructive?”  Of course the answer depends entirely upon what choices we make personally and globally.

Venus rules Libra and this New Moon.  Currently moving through Virgo, it reflects the need for HEALING.  In order to heal extremism, we must make necessary adjustments in how we relate to one another.  A greater sense of equality and balance must be restored.  Dare I say we must learn to SHARE (Libra) resources and power?  Clearly, we must change how we take care of ourselves, each other and our planet.  To do so we must also embrace a much more honest, equal and realistic view of ourselves and others.  Virgo always serves to realign us with REALITY – often through crises.  Perhaps the growing crises of climate change and refugee migrations will encourage greater sharing and equality among humanity as our need to help one another in order to survive increases.

Venus’ connection to both Uranus and the South Node in Aries reflects the need to let go of selfishness that denies the legitimate needs and desires of others.  Conversely, it’s also telling those who consistently sacrifice their own equally important needs and desires that it’s time to stand up for themselves and stop being a doormat.  Denial of anyone’s legitimate needs is a recipe for imbalance and inequality.  If your relationships are a series of one crisis (Virgo) after another, its time to look at the common denominator:  YOU!  Since the ‘outer always reflects the inner,’ your relationships with others cannot improve as long as you continue to criticize, disrespect, betray, de-value and judge yourself.’

Venus is semi-square the Sun and Moon in Libra.  This symbolizes the need to let go of pain and suffering.  Surrendering to your Higher Self, and accepting and forgiving with gentle care and compassion your very real yet imperfect human self, you can begin the process of necessary INNER HEALING WORK that eliminates the negative mindset that keeps you from recognizing your own worth and value.  Relationships with others can never be equal or healthy as long as you see yourself as ‘less than’ or ‘never good enough.’

From an evolutionary perspective, Libra initiates a diversity of relationships with a diversity of others for the purpose of discovering who we are as individuals.  Through the natural process of comparing and contrasting ourselves with others, we can come to know and appreciate what’s unique and different about ourselves.  However, thousands of years of patriarchal conditioning, that views everything through the distorted lens of dominance, hierarchy and exclusion, has instead taught us to compare and contrast ourselves with others to determine hierarchical rank:  who’s better and who’s worse, who’s richer and who’s poorer, who’s smarter, prettier, more successful, more powerful.  If you view the world in this way, its inevitable that you will come to false conclusions about worth — both of yourself and of others.

Another major contributing factor to inequality in relationships comes from the conditioning of man-made belief systems or what we call religions.  Of the seven billion people who inhabit our planet, the majority of them believe in one of the world’s three largest religions:  Judaism, Islam or Christianity.  Unfortunately, ALL of these three major world religions teach fundamental inequalities.  They believe in gender inequality teaching that men are superior to women.  They also believe that humans are superior to animals and the environment teaching that mankind has ‘dominion over’ the natural world.  Interestingly, the etymology of both  ‘dominion’ and ‘dominate’ are the same.  They also teach inequality of race believing that some races are superior to others which resulted in the infamous Papal Bull that established the doctrine of ‘Manifest Destiny’ that justified the land grabs and genocide of indigenous peoples throughout the Americas.   Through thousands of years of conditioning influence, these patriarchal man-made religions have institutionalized false beliefs relative to INEQUALITY!

Venus square Saturn in the New Moon chart can help us to throw off these distortions of the truth.  If we choose, we can evolve beyond the social and cultural expectations to conform to these distorted values and beliefs.  As Saturn moves through Sagittarius over the next two years, we’ll ALL be paying much greater attention to what we believe and why we believe it.  Keep in mind that our beliefs form the very basis of how we interpret reality, so if our beliefs are faulty, it stands to reason that the conclusions we reach will likely also be false.

In a perfectly timed ‘As Above, So Below’ moment reflecting Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius, which is focusing human consciousness on a search for greater understanding of the truth, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network is launching a seven part series beginning October 18th called, “BELIEF.”

This upcoming series is described as a groundbreaking television event exploring humankind’s ongoing search to connect with something greater than ourselves. This original series invites viewers to witness some of the world’s most fascinating spiritual journeys through the eyes of the believers.  Journeying to the far reaches of the world, and to places cameras have rarely been, “Belief” searches the origins of diverse faiths and the heart of what really matters.  These stories and others will all lead us to ask:  “What do you believe?”

If you are willing to do the necessary inner work of healing, especially regarding the elimination of victim consciousness, this month’s New Moon celestial energies can bring breakthroughs.  If you will take full responsibility for your own choices and actions, and the realities you’ve co-created for yourself, you’ll benefit from heavenly support that brings greater emotional maturity and security.  If you surrender your personal will to your higher Divine Will, then when Venus trines retrograde Pluto in Capricorn on the 22^nd/23^rd, you can reap many rewards particularly in the areas of personal and financial health and well-being, meaningful and right work, happier relationships with others and of course, a mind and heart at greater peace with itself and the world.

Unequal and unbalanced relationship dynamics can heal now.  You know that famous bumper sticker that says, “No Justice; No Peace”?  Justice and peace require a fundamental sense of fairness and equality.  It’s time to let go of distorted values and false belief systems that have conditioned us for centuries to blindly accept inequalities.  Be especially mindful of your beliefs in the coming weeks and how those beliefs dictate the way in which you interpret reality, including how you see yourself and others.  Truth is, WE ARE ALL ALL ONE, EQUAL IN THE EYES OF OUR CREATOR.

Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse – Powerful Choices

The Scorpio New Moon is a Solar Eclipse!  It happens October 23rd at 2:57 pm PDT at 0 degrees Scorpio.  Here’s the chart:  ScorpioNewMoonSolarEclipse2014.  This Eclipse is visible throughout North America, the Pacific region and Eastern Asia.  Eclipse patterns repeat precisely every nineteen years from the same energetic blueprint.  What was happening in your life in 1995?

Scorpio is associated with the natural life/death/rebirth cycle.  In natural law, this is known as reincarnation.  Among Scorpio’s many symbolic glyphs (Scorpion, Snake, Eagle and Phoenix) the Phoenix bird most aptly portrays the cycle of reincarnation as it dies in the all-consuming fire that seems to destroy it, rises again from the ashes and resurrects itself to begin life anew.  Human consciousness (the Soul) is an immutable energy that similarly cannot be destroyed.  It can only change form and does so lifetime after lifetime inhabiting a new and different body and ego-centric identity/personality in its ongoing desire to spiritually evolve and ultimately reunite with the Divine Source that created it.

Accordingly, Scorpio is a powerful archetype associated with the Soul and the evolutionary process itself.  Evolution is facilitated through the most powerful trait we humans possess:  the power of free will choices.  Free will choices drive human evolution and reflect our most important intrinsic capacity, the power to create our reality through what we choose to do, feel, say and believe. Quantum science has recently proven what ancient spiritual sages and mystics have known and taught throughout the ages – that human consciousness creates reality.  Our free will choices are continuously co-creating our reality, personally and collectively, consciously and unconsciously.

Solar Eclipses are super powerful New Moons that ‘seed’ new beginnings reflected in the energies of the celestial pattern of the New Moon/Eclipse.  Eclipse patterns repeat precisely every nineteen years so choices made at the time of eclipses take up to nineteen years to fully manifest.  Accordingly, this Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse heralds a time of crucially important, consequential, life-altering choices.

Scorpio teaches right use of power.  Right use of power creates, heals and transforms.  Misuse of power seeks domination and power over others.  When we feel powerless, we often seek to manipulate and control others and outer circumstances. When we’re truly self-empowered we seek to heal ourselves, overcome personal limitations, and transform outer circumstances for the benefit of all concerned.

Scorpio is a fixed energy sign meaning that its nature is to establish, stabilize and secure.  However, this natural tendency can be a barrier to evolutionary growth.  Seeing change as threatening to the safety and security of the status quo, even when its no longer working for us, often undermines our willingness to embrace necessary change.  The antidote to this common experience comes from another natural Scorpio trait, its innate capacity to be confrontational.  Confrontation has a purpose and that purpose is to overcome the habit of resistance to evolution.  Typically, the more we resist necessary evolutionary growth and change, the more we’ll experience inner and outer confrontations!

When feeling powerless, we often confront and blame others.  When we’re self-empowered, owning our power, we confront ourselves, face our greatest fears and bring deeply buried emotional stuff up into our conscious awareness where it can be healed.  When we feel powerless, we often mistrust and fear deep personal connections with others.  From a place of personal empowerment we more often choose to join forces with others in pursuit of shared goals knowing that doing so exponentially increases our power.

Remember, Scorpio rules the life/death/rebirth cycle.  It rises from the ashes like the Phoenix, renewing itself after being consumed in the fires of transformation. What’s transforming in your life?  What’s ‘dying?’  What needs to be released in order for something new to be birthed in your life?  How are you using your power?  What choices are you making in order to realize your dreams?  Are you choosing consciously or unconsciously?

The Scorpio New Moon/Eclipse pattern includes Venus and the asteroid Pallas Athena. Venus is the quintessential archetypal feminine symbol. Pallas Athena is associated with creative and courageous feminine wisdom and justice.  Together, these two symbolize the re-emergence and re-empowerment of the archetypal power of the Divine Feminine in our world. Patriarchal influences have sought control over women for millennia. Indeed, women’s oppression for thousands of years has wrought severe imbalances on our planet that have reached a point of extremity that threatens our very survival. Both women and men need to respect, renew and restore the power of the Divine Feminine if we are to heal ourselves and our planet. Women’s issues, particularly women’s rights, will continue to dominate headlines over the coming years as more and more women reclaim their power.

Pallas Athena in Scorpio, the sign of RNA/DNA and cellular regeneration, is also associated with the power to heal through deep penetrating insight that reveals the root causes of disease.  Currently, this influence is manifesting through remarkable medical breakthroughs in the science of stem cell research.  Recent clinical trials are showing surprising and astonishing results in the treatment and ultimate ability to cure diseases like diabetes and macular degeneration that causes blindness.  Indeed we’re living in a time of tremendous spiritual and scientific breakthroughs that have the potential to completely transform our reality.  Expect continuing discoveries and innovative solutions to long-standing global problems in the coming months and years.  Viva la revolution!

Saturn and Ceres also occupy Scorpio at later degrees.  Saturn always requires that we take complete responsibility for what we’ve co-created in our reality.  It represents the emotional maturation process.  Being accountable for all of our actions helps us develop our own authority in the world and is inherently empowering.  Ceres has to do with unconditional love, nurturing and nourishment, but also correlates to the experience of losses that are beyond our control.  Inevitably, what has been lost is returned.  There’s always a higher purpose involved in this loss/return cycle that culminates in a deep inner transformation that forever alters the lives of those involved.

Saturn rules leadership and social structures.  Ceres rules food, Mothers and deep grief that ultimately transforms, strengthens and empowers.  Together, these two symbolize the likelihood of major losses and returns affecting nations, governments, leaders and social institutions that care for the needs of the disenfranchised, underprivileged and dispossessed.  I’m hoping that at least one of the ways this influence manifests will be to ‘bring back our girls.’  The Nigerian government is currently negotiating a truce agreement with Boko Haram, a terrorist group that kidnapped hundreds of school girls this past Spring.  What have you lost that caused you deep grief and despair?  Can you see the higher purpose in that experience yet?  Are you prepared for an eventual return that is deeply transformative and empowering?

Mercury in Libra completes its final retrograde of 2014 on Saturday, October 25th bringing insights and AHA’s regarding all our relationships.  The intense and extraordinary three week review of past relationship dynamics is nearing an end.  Be especially mindful of thoughts and revelations that come as Mercury turns direct this weekend.  Then be ready and willing to speak your truth, from your heart, to partners, to affect an evolution of your relationship with them. Some relationships are ready to be healed and can metamorphose to a higher level.  Others may be ready to end.  If so, be willing to release them and bless them for what they taught you, while taking full responsibility for having chosen to be in relationship with them in the first place.

Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse!

The Scorpio New Moon occurred this morning at 5:50 am MST at 11 degrees Scorpio 15 minutes.  This New Moon is also a rare Solar Eclipse!  Here’s the chart:  2013ScorpioNewMoonSolarEclipse.   Scorpio rules evolution.  Scorpio rules choices.  It also rules power.  The most powerful human attribute is free will choice.  Why?  Because human evolution is facilitated through the power of free will choices.  Of course the wisest free will choices use power to create, heal and evolve, not to control, manipulate or destroy.  How do you use your power?  How powerful or powerless do you feel?

Science now knows that consciousness creates reality.  Religion teaches us that we’re made in the image of our divine Creator which makes us ‘co-creators.’  What are your thoughts, deeds and beliefs (free-will choices) co-creating?

Scorpio’s planetary ruler, Pluto, represents the Soul and its deepest desires.  Every Soul has two opposite and competing desires; the desire to separate from the divine Source that created it and the desire to return to that same Source.  Throughout countless lifetimes, Souls exhaust their separating desires (material world/matter) and turn their attention more and more to the desire to return to their divine creative Source (non-material world/Spirit).

Solar Eclipses are powerful New Moons that ‘reboot’ cosmic energies.  Eclipses are evolutionary gateways.  This Scorpio New Moon/Solar Eclipse also carries the energy of Saturn (limits, responsibility, authority) and Mercury retrograde (intuitive mind, hidden info/knowledge) in addition to the Sun and Moon.  It will bring deeply held emotions and wounds to the surface and reveal powerful dark hidden secrets.

Whatever ‘comes up’ or ‘comes out’ will do so because of an evolutionary intention to metamorphose its associated limitations that are now preventing further growth.  Scorpio always advises us to confront whatever comes to the surface or gets revealed, to face it squarely, head-on, because it’s ready to evolve, heal and transform.

Pluto rules this New Moon/Eclipse.  It’s been transiting through Capricorn (social structures/systems) since 2008.  It was squared (90 degree angle) for the fourth of seven total times by Uranus in Aries on November 1st reaching the mid-way point of this extraordinary celestial event that reflects worldwide social/political changes that have been unfolding over the past several years including:  the global economic downturn, America’s first African American President, the Arab Spring/Summer and Syria joining the world treaty banning chemical weapons.  Breakthroughs and changes of this magnitude will continue to powerfully manifest over the coming days, weeks and months, fueled by the power of Scorpio and the free will choices it represents, both individually, and collectively.

So be exceedingly mindful of choices made now as they will likely have far-reaching consequences and perhaps weightier outcomes than intended.  Choose peace.  Choose love.  Choose healing.  Choose self-empowerment.  Choose consciously.  Choose wisely…

Libra New Moon

The Libra New Moon happens on Friday, October 4th at 11 degrees Libra 56 minutes at 5:34 pm MST/PDT.  Here’s the horoscope:  LibraNewMoon2013.  The symbolic glyph for Libra is the scales of justice, weighing and balancing hearts and deeds.  But Libra is NOT inherently balanced.  In reality, Libra is the sign of extremes.  It is learning balance.  Most commonly, Libra learns balance through its relationships with others.

Libra initiates a variety of relationships with a diversity of people and through the process of comparing and contrasting, comes to know itself as a uniquely different individual.  Through its relationships with others, Libra learns to treat others equally and to be treated equally by others.  You might think this is a simple task.  It isn’t.  Maintaining harmonious relationships requires a balance of power as this balance utterly dictates the reality of the relationship.  For illustrative purposes, take just a moment and think about a few important relationships in your life.  Now thinking about each of these people, answer the following questions as they relate to the balance of power in these relationships:  Who has the upper hand most frequently?   Who’s really in charge?   Who most often gets their way and who most often gives in?  How’s that workin’ for ya?  Perhaps something has recently occurred that’s now demanding that some adjustment(s) be made?

Relationship crises will abound this month as these necessary adjustments are made between friends, lovers, adversaries, enemies, families, neighbors and even nations.  Saturn in Scorpio will bring up deep and powerful emotions and feelings.  Uranus in Aries will want to have its own way no matter what.  Saturn’s trine to Chiron in Pisces will have some looking for a savior and some looking for a scapegoat.  But Saturn also represents the need to grow up and to take complete responsibility for your own actions – including the choice to be in the relationship in the first place!  Relationship crises have/are occurring and choices must now be made about how to change and move forward – together or alone.

With the fourth of seven square aspects (from June 2012 to March 2015) between revolutionary Uranus in Aries and evolutionary Pluto in Capricorn coming up on November 1st we are approaching the mid-point in the current window of opportunity for a quantum shift in human consciousness prophesied for this time.  Reference the recent about face in the confrontation between the United States and Syria, as well as the new potential thaw in US/Iran relations as evidence of a quantum shift in human consciousness that’s well underway.  As above, so below.  As within, so without.   Science now knows that consciousness creates reality.  Our shifting collective human consciousness is indeed creating new realities that are different than our past realities of continuous warfare and dominance over others.  How is your reality shifting?  How is it changing the way you think and behave?  This extraordinary time in human history is empowering radical changes in our world, one person at a time.

Libra is ruled by Venus which is currently in Scorpio and just completed a square aspect (90 degrees) with Mars in Leo.  Venus and Mars are also associated with relationships as these two planets represent women and men respectively.  The square that just occurred between them also symbolically represents the energy of crisis forcing choices and decisions about how to proceed or move forward with necessary changes to the relationship.  Old relationship patterns are breaking down; new ways of relating are now required.  Many relationships are currently renegotiating balance of power issues.  We need look no further than the growing rift between the ‘establishment’ and the ‘Tea Party’ wings of the Republican party in the United States to see evidence of a relationship ‘adjustment’ relative to power sharing that’s currently unfolding.

Obviously, such relationship changes and adjustments require serious discussions between the parties involved.  What’s important in these discussions is a recognition that EVERYONE involved has legitimate needs and desires that must be met in order for the relationship to be successful.  How they are met and in what order is not so important as striving towards a final tally that ‘feels’ fair to all involved.  Some relationships are just naturally equal.  No one really ‘keeps score’ but things always seem to just feel even.  Some relationships are inherently unequal like bosses and employees, or parents and children.  But in the end, EVERYONE involved has legitimate needs that must be met!  So its time to talk about what’s working and what’s not working and to find the intestinal fortitude to be forthright and honest in declaring and standing up for your own wants and needs.

It will also be equally necessary to sincerely listen (a key Libra lesson) and make an effort to truly hear what the other person is saying they need and want!  When effective listening occurs in relationships, appropriate giving and receiving follows.  Proper giving and receiving is a PRIMARY FACTOR in both establishing and maintaining a healthy balance of power within relationships.  Inappropriate giving is often the unwitting result of a classic Libra attribute — the need to be needed!  But too much giving creates a sense of duty, obligation and ultimately resentment when the receiving party begins to feel that they OWE the giver.  The balance of power is disturbed and undermines the health of the relationship.

Mercury (information and communication) just entered Scorpio (deep emotions and trust issues) where its slowing down for it’s final retrograde of 2013 from October 21st to November 10th. This influence powerfully supports the process of digging up, revealing or otherwise exposing facts and truths that have been buried or hidden or just kept secret.  It will help us confront and discuss our deepest needs and desires so healing can occur.  Information shared in this way will prove to be crucially important to decisions being made now especially regarding important relationships.

And finally, eclipse season is upon us again!  On October 18th a Lunar Eclipse occurs at 25 Aries and two weeks later on November 3rd a Solar Eclipse happens at 11 Scorpio.  Eclipses always energize and accelerate the manifestation process so events associated with them typically turn out to be quite important in scope or consequence.  These two eclipses herald an upcoming change in the focus of our collective human consciousness shifting our attention from the power of resources (the people in power) to the power of relationships (the power of the people).  Can we finally transcend the need to dominate others in order to feel secure?  Can we finally begin to see others as equals?  The celestial patterns are encouraging such evolutionary progress but of course, as always, we must make the free will choice to do so…

Finally, this New Moon pattern also includes an exact inconjunt (150 degrees) angle between Saturn in Scorpio and retrograde Uranus in Aries.  The inconjunct angle is yet another crisis indicator!  This aspect represents crises that occur as a result of being blocked by outer circumstances or forces that powerfully and effectively oppose what you’re trying to accomplish.  This pattern is designed to make overly willful or overly egotistical people think twice about HOW they are going about pursuing their goals.  It will block any and all efforts by these people to move forward unless and until they learn to equally consider the needs of others.

So take time this month to reevaluate what you really need and what you really want.  Find the courage to openly, honestly and effectively communicate these needs and wants to the important ‘others’ in your life.   And finally, become a much better listener when it comes to hearing what others are saying they really need and want.  Dig deep to find and face your own fears especially regarding relationships.  And know that the most successful societies in human history have been characterized by a shared commitment to consistently considering and meeting EVERYONE’s needs, not just those of a chosen, privileged few!
